Bullz anychance of you having a win98 or w2k cd laying around ???

Id format that puppy with the 98 floppy and install one of those instead of the repair cd you got with teh pc .  you can get the drivers from the hp site or look at the mainboard and use its numbers ...

You could have a virous also thats fubaring that puppy . and may just get away with fdisk /format with a floppy 1st .

pc boots but errors windows correct ???

thats ussually a sign of a power supply, hd or ram failing ... or in the rare occasion over heat ..  thats why i pointed you in that direction .

you could DL a 98 start up floppy and try the fdisk/ format route and then use your restore cd's . but if one of the above is failing your gonna get errors/crashes during the install .

Sorry to hear your pc bit the dirt Bullz, god knows there isn't much to do in Sebring :)

If Moil can't get yours up and running without some parts let me know, I have a few old pc's just lying around that I can ship anywhere you need them.

Yeah, I'm in Sebring every year for Thanksgiving. My in-laws live there, you should give me a shout, I'll be there from the 22nd until the 28th.

hey bullsz sorry to hear bout your pc.
as others have stated it could be your power supply, HD, or ram.
I have a couple of pc's in the garage in various states of disrepair. im not sure whats still viable on either of them but i do know the power supplies are good. im at work now but im fairly sure they are 450w . i might have a few extra sticks of ram as well.
my emial addy is in my sig.
also do you have a paypal acct? might be eaiser to donate a few bucks to the cause. I know there are several of us that can build ya a new puter as well. I can , moil can and prolly 6 or 7 others.
shoot me a email and we can go from there.
Theres also a thing going on in downtown dallas the 1st monday of every month were they have a big sale on computer parts to complete systems. the next one will be labar day so that gives ya about a week. If you can get me the info on what ya need i can prolly get ya good deal.
Crap now I gotta redo my cool sig.....crap!!! I cant remeber how to do it all !!!!!

Ive also got a FX 5200 128 card , all  pulled out of a scrap machines , but tested .   38
