I was thinking about this some more while out mowing the lawn on this day off of mine.
Where the 'vets' have failed is in that as the 'elders' of the AH community, we've not done enough to slow or stop the degredation of the game play in the MA.
It's easy to see it happen, and the guys who have called us out on it, have been shouted down by the masses to accept things the way they are.
FT being taken by Rooks today speaks volumes I think. The mob mentality wins. Right now if you limited the MA to LA7s, Spit 16s, 110gs B24s and goonies, they'd be perfectly happy.
There are enough 'vets' who condone or support that kind of gameplay that those trying to be the voice of reason get drowned out.
I don't have an answer, and I don't know that the 'vets' of the AH community have the actual desire, outside of a vocal few, to try and change things.
I'd almost suggest letting the fracture break all the way with MA remaining Air Quake and those who actually enjoy ACM and not win the reset, HO at all costs, go to the AvA and fly the midwar birds etc. The Air Quake mob seems to have overwhelmed the MA at this point. It would be up to the ACM vets to make the move and actually populate the AvA and have at it. Somehow you'd have to have some control over the griefer's too as you can bet, as they do in FT, they'd try and screw it up.
I know when I logged on last night and went to FT, the first thing I encountered were vulching LA7s and N1Ks, followed by flights of B17s trying to bomb the base. It was a bad omen and very discouraging as my own team's response was to go and do the same.
