Air Force chief: Test weapons on testy U.S. mobs

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Nonlethal weapons such as high-power microwave devices should be used on American citizens in crowd-control situations before being used on the battlefield, the Air Force secretary said Tuesday.

The object is basically public relations. Domestic use would make it easier to avoid questions from others about possible safety considerations, said Secretary Michael Wynne.

"If we're not willing to use it here against our fellow citizens, then we should not be willing to use it in a wartime situation," said Wynne. "(Because) if I hit somebody with a nonlethal weapon and they claim that it injured them in a way that was not intended, I think that I would be vilified in the world press."

The Air Force has paid for research into nonlethal weapons, but he said the service is unlikely to spend more money on development until injury problems are reviewed by medical experts and resolved.

Nonlethal weapons generally can weaken people if they are hit with the beam. Some of the weapons can emit short, intense energy pulses that also can be effective in disabling some electronic devices.....

No way......the Secretary of the Air Force needs to put down the crack pipe and immediately check himself into the nearest mental institution.

Sooo many people forget that the US military is completely leashed by civilian leadership...  The right to bear arms isn't in there to protect citizens from OTHER CITIZENS.

For further clarification, re-read the first paragraph of the declaration of independence.
Everyone I know, goes away, in the end.

This is not a joke.  The department of defense of the US of A recommends ordinarly cooking tin to immediatly counter the effects of a microwave attack.  i.e. 'tinfoil hat' to protect the brain, which is most likely to bear  much of the ill effects of a microwave attack.  Pain, nausea, dizziness etc.

it wouldn't be the first time.  they tested nuclear fallout on people in the western states, LSD on the average Joe.  sterilization tests on black people in alabama the list is fairly extensive.

Somewhere I saw an LSD test on US troops.  Video!

Was sad, but rather funny.
It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)

What happens the first time someone reacts badly and dies from it? Sue the government? Thats the PC thinking thats got us in the mess we are in. Just the reverse of what it should be. Use it on enemies first, and if it works, then think about domestic use.

Yep...  we have the right to keep and bear arms because the founders realized that government allways butchers it's citizens and tramples on freedoms when it get's big enough or has been around long enough.

When they test weapons on us... it is a good time to test ours on them.   We do outnumber them of course...

Not funny when you realize a number of these suffered lifelong mental illness and some even committed suicide DURING the experiments as well as afterwards.

I have an idea, why dont we test these non-lethal weapons on this Air Force general?

The US gov't has done all the things mentioned in this thread. Enough is enough. We ARE NOT the military's personal freaking guinea pigs!

That is probably the only thing that will deter them, pretty sad really.

To enrich this above statement (which is true).   Dairy products did have trace amount of radioactive plutonium from 50's- late 60's.
