I think it would be neat to have a Wirbelwind, just it probably ought to be perked. Four 20mm's blazing away would be incredibly powerful against lowflying aircraft.

Fw-190A-5 should be removed in AH and make way for 190A-3 and A-6.  190A-5 in real life is a pig compare to the nimbler Fw-190A-3 and 190A-6.  Pls

Agreed, but I think they're substituting the A5 for the A3 maybe.  Similar to the F6F-5 vs. the F6F-3 in the mid-war.  The -5 Hellcat doesn't fit the mid-war dates either.  Not enough of an expert on how the different planes performed other than the -5 had a bit more power than the -3.  Not sure about the difference in the A5 vs. A3...

The F4U-1 would be a monster in the early war...

It's kind of hard to figure out what would be good for the EWA, because all the planes that were too crappy to survive for a second in the old MA now have a shot at usefulness in the EWA.  Probably the same to a lesser degree in the MWA.

the lesser degree is the point, I've flown the EAW for some hours now and you can take the crappiest ride like a Ju87 and don't feel naked as a few planes are able to come straight from 10k to ground without dieing. None of them can use 30mms, and only a few would be able to take you out in 1 pass, not to motion the lighter player concentration and the fact that the Ju87 can have a chance of using his rear in some situations now (It was just decoration before). In those conditions the TBM is no joke on level bombing (why is it there ?), as only 2K is required to bust a hangar.

In a Ju88 formation you can kill 7 hangars in there. I used salvo 1 with 500kgs, and salvo 7 with 50's, at 10k high. No wonder the lancs are perked in there 8). The Ju88 is quite an opponent for the fighters now and a top notch bomber would like to know when the A-4 version came out),  but we need a british and russian medium bomber to equilibrate. I think that the planes that we have in there were really the cream of this time period, and I wouldn't be surprised that even crappier planes will be introduced in AH. If we do get new plane someday

:cry

All u guys have everything else i could have though of. Did anybody put down the panther?? i noe that has been one people have been asking for.

If we actually had THE EARLY WAR planes, we would then have almost zero participation from the american planes existing in AH today...

I mean, if we really devide the war in to three parts, we will have the summer -39 to summer -41, summer -41 to summer -43, summer -43 to summer -45. So you can scrap your f4us, f6f's and P40n's AND FW190's, they all belong to the MWA.

Hitech said the era splits are:

beginning to mid-42: early war

mid-42 to early 44:  mid war

early 44 to end:  late war

F4U-1 and F6F-5 belong in mid and late respectively, based on historical appearance in combat.  However, an F6F-3 would go in mid-war, but we don't have one, so I'm thinking they just substituted.  Unless the splits change, I'd say the breakdown of aircraft in each era is correct--except for whatever substitutions they made...There's a similar thread on the P-47--folks wanting to see one in the early war.  No jug saw combat before early '43, so no jug in early.

My two cents...

Most useful model added would be P39. We could have a D model for the EWA and a Q model for MWA. For events and AvA this covers PTO, MTO plus a "russian" plane.

We also need some more Jap planes that fit EWA and events.

When Hellcats are upgraded to the new standard they'll likely give us F6F-3 and F6F-5 for MWA and LWA. Though the A2A capability is very similar making the -5 substitue for the -3 in MWA, the -5 is a much better JABO.
