I see your trashed Camero and raise you a totalled Shelby with less than 20,000 miles. :cry

LOL cav, that definitely put a smile on my face.  I know the Camaro has the whole "mullet" image but trust me, it was not like that for me.  I rarely, RARELY ever got lead footed in my car.  I drove it hard, just not abusively.  I went through tires due to diving hard into curves and not doing burnouts.

RPM...I feel your pain.

Bat, that's just too freaky man.

Glad you're OK, diablo.

Perspective. Perspective and Karma.

I know the feeling, the day my 84 Rabbit VW GTI was t-boned by a VW Beetle.

I drove that car off the lot... 34 miles on it. I still have the "Fly GTI" poster that came with it, the car got, sniff..sniff, junked.

But getting a new car is always neat, I got a 16v GTI that instantly became my new favorite thing. Putting the old Blaupunkt in the new car gave it the flavor of the old car, which was cool.

It was just like this one, black / red.. but I had red stripes and red VW badges.

diablo, you could always just find the stripper and use her as your daily ride.  I mean after all fair is fair.

glad to hear you're ok, diablo. Sorry to hear about your baby though. Shame to lose her like that to some low life chick.

Glad to hear you are ok.  While you may not want to hear it, you can replace the car.  You can not replace yourself or friends.

man dude sorry to hear, glad you and passenger are allright. God was watching out for you. :aok

losing a car you love really sucks. her not having insurance really screws the pooch because best you can hope for is to sue her personally... though it sounds like you won't get anything anyway, she'll have no money or nothing of value :(

Hmm.

Sorry about your car dude.  Only good thing is that you can probably get a really nice replacement camaro, 2000-2002, for under $8000.

Little sorta-related story...  City put in a new stop sign just past the top of a blind hill peak on the same day my brother's front brakes went out.  House on one side of the hill, repair shop on the other.  I was driving "chase".  Bro goes over the hill at posted speed limit of 45, and sees stop sign right as VW jetta pulls out into the intersection.  Brother hits brakes but only rears work, so no help there.  He avoids t-boning the jetta, but the rear slides a bit and his left rear quarter panel just ahead of the left rear wheel whacks the front of the jetta.

My Bro is driving a '60s buick skylark, vs. a '90s jetta.  Guess which car won...  Bro's car gets a little sheet metal damage, front of jetta from firewall fwd is shoved left about 2 ft.  Basically my bro's car has $500 sheet metal damage, jetta is totaled.  Haha!  Er... sorry about your car jetta dude... that sucks.

It gets better... Turns out the jetta driver is a student, and daddy bought the car (we lived in a well-off neighborhood).  But since he's just a poor student, he has no insurance.  WTF?  Back then, a loaded jetta like this was $14k, and he couldn't afford insurance?  Well, it gets better.  My bro offers to pay for the car since of course we're fully insured, but he lets the shortsighted jetta driver know that since he has no insurance, he'll get a new car but he'll lose his license because Calif had just passed a no-tolerance insurance law the year prior.  He'll get a new car he can't drive.

Whoops.

Daddy shows up and waves us off, no call to the cops, no insurance deal, no court visit to explain how a kid driving a brand new fully loaded jetta couldn't afford insurance.

My bro -   *phew* :)

Diablo, glad you're ok, hope you get some payoff for your car and can get a nice replacement.  I have a '98 trans-am and don't think I could replace it either.
