Just givre it a little more time Pyro it will be over soon enough.

Though it's been distastful at times I think this forum has served it's purpose of keeping the political BS from other forums.

It all should be over within a month and then it will get back to normal.(as normal as this forum gets at least)

I agree, this forum is GREAT.

USA Election 2000 will be over soon enough, and we will be on to other world events.

And those who wish to tell jokes can still do so:

If you saw Gore drownding in a raging river and had to decide to save him or take a Pulitzer Prize photo, what shutter speed would you use?

There is a new soup coming out for the holidays, called Clinton Soup. It consists primarily of a small weener in hot water.

I vote we name the 2nd O/T area:

"Never Argue Politics or Religion"

That should give, unsuspecting board readers enough of a heads-up.

No one is forcing anyone to read any of these topics.

Therefore, I find it hard to understand those that protest even as they participate.

OK, let the "naming contest" begin!
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!

I see no problem with the O-Club as it is... but then I don't make the rules   .

I might have been insulting and personal (but that's quite a subjective thing anyway), and for that I apologise. But I've had people do the same to me and I couldn't really care less - most of them are an ocean away   .

For the most part I think the discussions can be quite good, despite the reactionaries around here, and I do keep coming back. I enjoy having discussions with people who have diametrically opposing views (eg Toad), and it also surprises me that we agree occasionally  .

This election will be over within a month, and we can look forward to the British General Election early next year!

I stopped reading and posting to the off topic forum as of Friday (except for an attempt to post a joke).  Got tired of being yelled at and yelling back.

Its much more enjoyable to post in the other forums about WWII stuff.

There is a penchant for overreacting to stuff around here.   I have not asked people to cease these discussions.  I have asked two things- 1. To keep it civil. 2. If having another forum would be better due to the amount of traffic.

I was going to get off the politics anyway. I've been limiting my exposure to it via the radio & tv the last few days as it was affecting my mood needlessly. Realistically speaking we can't do swat about it but sitting around and cluck like a bunch of old hens. I'd rather not know viewpoints of others here in this virtual world if it turns my opinion of them negative. I will continue to post humorous (non political) thoughts here and stay mainly in the game forums.

thanks anyway

Rational debate???  In who's opinion??? The Liberals???  Oh, i see.  In Pyro's and banana's opinion.  Screw that.

I see the assault on the Constitution by the Democrats as serious, and emotionally charged.  Not something to "debate" at all.

But, whatever. I  can get plenty of "filtered", bogus, and slanted "opinion" from the US Media.  No need to read the same BS, and not be able to respond in a like-manner, here too.

Well, im signing-off this Forum.  I'm not interested in milk-toast Politically Correct(and boring) discourse.

It was fun, i'm off to tune-in James Carville and Rush Limbaugh.  Unlike some, i'm not afraid to listen to other people's opinions.

Pyro is a liberal?  In Texas?  Fire him!  lol j/k of course, you rock.

Pyro, maybe you haven't heard, but Liberman plans on attacking video games specifically after the Columbine incident.  Any and all games with violence (exploding planes with people in them with 30mm cannon would surely qualify) are going to be under the gun.  Don't take my word for it, call up one of the guys at Id software (they are close to you guys) and see what they have to say.

Hope this qualifies as a little more "on-topic".
