I'll be waiting at the stop light in my 08 Dodge Challenger.  I really can't wait for the Challenger vs Camaro vs Mustang. Its not been since the late 70's since these guys have gotten to play altogether.  It will be fun!! :D

Ok, they're still dicking me around at the Carmax here so I decided to do another search and low and behold looka what I found.  It's in San Antonio, they have it on hold for me and I have a ride coming to get me.  Sweet!!!!

Exterior Color: Blue
Interior Color: Tan Leather
Mileage: 48K
Engine: 5.7l V8 310hp
Transmission: 6-speed manual
Current Store: San Antonio

It's got the manual trans and the black and tan interior, exactly what I wanted!!!  Heading out now to get it!  Wish me luck!!

sweet, how much they want for it???

Whats the list of mods looking like??

Im a guy that sees a car(muscle car of course) and in the first 10 seconds already have after market parts in mind. One thing that car def needs is a hood, the one now is too plain.

I remeber driving through TX in the mid 1990s & seeing the state troopers patroling Rt. 20 in Camaros.
Were those ones beefed up, or was stock goood enough?

Diablo,

That second one sure looks like an RS with the spoiler and skirts, not a Z-28.  Don't get ripped off :)

Oh man.

That's all I can say.

I called Carmax in San Antonio, talked to a sales rep and explained the situation, this is like close to 5pm.  He said, "Get here, I'll have the paperworkready, all you have to do is sign it."

Not wanting to pass up this opportunity I called a friend, told him I'll pay him $200 cash to take me San Antone right now, and he shows up 10 mins. later.  We get there after dealing with Houston traffic at about 10 til 10.  Gregory, the salesman, has the car out front, washed and cleaned and a full tank of gas.  I look it over, pop the hood, do a walk around, start the engine.  I mean the leather is near mint.  There are no scuff marks on the door threshold, the paint looks really good.  "Ok" I said, "Let's do it."

We do the paperwork, he hands me the keys and says, "Thanks."  I look at him and tell him thanks for his patience and for helping above and beyond what the Carmax down the road was doing.  That 3 hour drive home was awesome.  That car has so much more improvements on it compared to my 96 it isn't even close.  Nary a squeak, a rattle, or any foreign noise was heard the whole time back.  The car was rock solid.  I am glad I waited, I am glad the other Carmax dicked me around.  All is well in my universe now.  As for mods, not looking past a KnN right now.  I am a believer in KISS, Keep It Stock Stupid.  But that's just me, I may have a new belief system come next week!  ;)

Is it a Z-28 or RS?  I've never seen a Z-28 with the RS body kit like that...

It's a Z.  That cladding is a dealer installed option IIRC.
