Sancho our host is working on Sunday, I'm working on Saturday till 2830 Mountain time. We were thinking we could host on Sunday at 5pm central time.
We wish to host two races, starting with the G3 cars, so the ones that are new to online car racing have a chance to have fun.
One 10 lap race in Dubai all in the Gilette Vertigo, the Vertigo is a good all around car with a descent handeling while Dubai offers large runoff areas for the distracted.
Then something a little more serious, 15 lap race at Barcelona, G3 car of your choice with a mandatory fuel pit.
Here's my quick rundown on the G3 cars for the ones that don't have much time to testdrive them all.
* 8.3L V10 Viper, 520HP/1165 Kg - The car to beat in the class, has a good handeling in turns, and will catch a bullet in a straight line. Be too heavy on the throttle before the end of the turn, and you will understeer straight into the sandbox.
* 3.6L flat 6 911 GT3 Cup, 390HP/1150 Kg - Definitly a serious contenter. You will enjoy the benefits, or stigmatas of the rear engine cars. Good acceleration and top speed, the hairy part is the trailbraking. Timed well and you can enter faster in the turns than the viper, and use the rear engine characteristics to exit the turn faster. Timed poorly, and nothing will be able to prevent the reaar heavy induced spin.
*3.2L Inline 6 BMW Z3, 380HP/ 1100 Kg. A little hard to keep in check in the turns, but will reward you with a descent straight line acceleration/speed. Plus chicks dig beemers.
* 3.0 V6 Gillette Vertigo, 242HP/ 1030 Kg. Chicks don't dig Vertigos, but under their ugglyness lies a surprisingling fun car to drive. More than half the power of the Viper will penalize you in the straight lines, but the handling in sharp turns in superior than the Z3/911/Viper.
*1.8L 4 banger Lotus Elise, 200HP/700 Kg. Before you laught at her low HP/displacement rating, concider her very low weight. You will brake 100y later than the rest of the field, and come screaming into the turns handeling like a UFO, and hopefully carry enought E till the next turn. Could make the viper drivers rage on short twisty tracks.
