Which cathegory will you be racing Funked? I don't have much time due to the hours I work ... plus I have to go for my type rating + ATP in 2 weeks, meaning even less time to goof around.

But I'll gladly grand'pa in the back with a daytona, passing the ones that crashed.

BTW, ran Monza with the BMW Z3 with Sancho yesterday, good fun stuff

This looks like fun.. I havent driven anything on the PC since before I stopped flying on the PC.  I may have to get this and give it a whirl in the next couple of weeks.  I love GT on the ps2 and forza on the xbox so this could be up my alley :D

Got it at best buy .. still goin thru unlockin tracks when I can.

Very neat how each car type has it's own very distinct 'personality' ..
..also very neat setup screens in the garage.. lotta stuff to tinker with in there.. *very* nice how what I learned in GPL an NASCAR applies just fine here :)

The stock setups mostly understeer badly, except for the ferrari and porsche (so far .. I havent run all the cars yet :)

I have been adding rear sway bar to help the mosler dig a bit more out of the corner (inducing more oversteer at full throtte, so I can point an shoot outta the corners) .. lil higher tire press on the fronts, cause they take a beatin under hard braking, stiffer springs, less sway bar, a lil stiffer shock,
less camber front an back (I like 'em able to rotate on throttle-brake input so I can setup as I go thru the corner ..the tutorial tells about braking in a straight line .. LOL .. like that *ever* happens!)

Haven't done any setup tinkering with the Porche's .. they all work the way I like 'em so far :) Oversteer throttle off, understeer throttle on.. it's the way of the Porche :)

-GE (when an where, league? ..and jest porche, specific model or?)
'The better I shoot ..the less I have to manuever'
-GE

Sancho our host is working on Sunday, I'm working on Saturday till 2830 Mountain time. We were thinking we could host on Sunday at 5pm central time.

We wish to host two races, starting with the G3 cars, so the ones that are new to online car racing have a chance to have fun.

One 10 lap race in Dubai all in the Gilette Vertigo, the Vertigo is a good all around car with a descent handeling while Dubai offers large runoff areas for the distracted.

Then something a little more serious, 15 lap race at Barcelona, G3 car of your choice with a mandatory fuel pit.

Here's my quick rundown on the G3 cars for the ones that don't have much time to testdrive them all.

* 8.3L V10 Viper, 520HP/1165 Kg - The car to beat in the class, has a good handeling in turns, and will catch a bullet in a straight line. Be too heavy on the throttle before the end of the turn, and you will understeer straight into the sandbox.

* 3.6L flat 6 911 GT3 Cup, 390HP/1150 Kg - Definitly a serious  contenter. You will enjoy the benefits, or stigmatas of the rear engine cars. Good acceleration and top speed, the hairy part is the trailbraking. Timed well and you can enter faster in the turns than the viper, and use the rear engine characteristics to exit the turn faster. Timed poorly, and nothing will be able to prevent the reaar heavy induced spin.

*3.2L Inline 6 BMW Z3, 380HP/ 1100 Kg. A little hard to keep in check in the turns, but will reward you with a descent straight line acceleration/speed. Plus chicks dig beemers.

* 3.0 V6 Gillette Vertigo, 242HP/ 1030 Kg. Chicks don't dig Vertigos, but under their ugglyness lies a surprisingling fun car to drive. More than half the power of the Viper will penalize you in the straight lines, but the handling in sharp turns in superior than the Z3/911/Viper.

*1.8L 4 banger Lotus Elise, 200HP/700 Kg. Before you laught at her low HP/displacement rating, concider her very low weight. You will brake 100y later than the rest of the field, and come screaming into the turns handeling like a UFO, and hopefully carry enought E till the next turn. Could make the viper drivers rage on short twisty tracks.

I run all 3 categories, which is how most people do it.  The rental point system is pretty cool because you get a wide variety of cars.  Good drivers in slow cars battling slow drivers in good cars can be pretty entertaining.

I drive 906 in the GTC-76 events, Ferrari 275 GTB/C or Daytona Cobra in GTC-65, and Ford Falcon in TC-65.

TC-65 is probably the most fun because you get Falcons vs. Minis vs. Alfas.  Minis pass in tight corners, Alfas pass in fast corners, and the Falcons destroy everybody on the straights.  :)

GTC-65 is usually Lotus 26r vs. Cobras.  Cobras win on fast tracks, Loti on the slow tracks.

GTC-76 is more up for grabs because the cars are hard to drive.  Driver ability makes a bigger difference there.  Whoever can keep it on the track for an hour is usually on top, regardless of which car.
