Yeah soup, I think you're confusing 2 seperate whines. No worries, there are so many these days, it's hard to keep them straight.
The accepted standards for furballers are dropping the hangars for no reason, or (and this can be interchanged) sinking the CV for no reason. For the GV crowd, it's dropping the VH for no reason. You normally see these 2 variations of the whine when there's been little opposition(as in a vulch or a camp), or, alternatively, when the opposition is roughly equal(as in a good fight, either armor battle or furball).
Capture attempts where the hangars aren't dropped first do sometimes result in good fights (where numerical parity exists to some degree) and then generate whines when the hangars are dropped later; conversely, dropping the hangars to prevent a fight normally elicits a whine. However, just dropping the hangars to break up a fight, GV or furball, normally just results in people being pissed off, and almost always results in a whine. A legitimate capture attempt in which the hangars are dropped, and the capture is made, normally just results in some grumbling, and a resetting of the situation, so that the aforementioned triggers can again determine the appropriate whine for the situation.
Anyway, it sounds like you're still new to furballing and such, and I understand that the transition from GVer to buffer to furballer (and back, depending on the map and situation) can be confusing, but never be afraid to ask. Until such time, I hope this clarifies things a bit.
