"undefended"
« on: September 21, 2006, 08:08:39 PM »
ahh.. the latest phrase in the continued tradition of scorning
any style of gameplay that does not solely involve "furballing"...........

"undefended base taking milk-runners" lol.

correct me if i'm wrong but weren't there many posts not long ago
that complained ....
                              "everytime the landgrabing toolsheders see
a large dar bar they decide that's the base
to capture, and  ruin the furball"

so now if the "landgrabing toolsheders" try to take bases without
a dar bar they are "milkrunners".

how is one to know whether the target will up a defence or not?

perhaps the capture guys should start calling out their intentions
on 200: "hey enemies we are hitting A17, ETA 12 min, see the dar bar,
that's us.your base will flash shortly".

defend your base or loose it. if the capture/defence part of game holds
no interest for you then the loss of a base shouldn't bother you.

i am now "ducking and covering" just like i learned in school.

I already posted in the long-winded thread about getting rid of the mission planner, since HiTech apparently approves of micro-orginazational tactics in his house, and shows repugnance of large squads and joint squad ops.

Hell, might as well flush the toilet and enable the darbar ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE FLOOR. Y'all would like that wouldn't ya?

The only thing that has ever been proven is that you can't please all of the people all of the time. No matter how anyone plays the game, someone else is always going to be unhappy about it.

Ah, but isn't the idea to please most of the people, most of the time, not pee them off.

I found it sad that knits were down to 6 bases and the one field not capped was completely destroyed as to not  let ftrs up and kill milkrunnin buff sets. It was a microcosm of about 8 players continually launching lanc sets and bombing every toolshed/strat in sight..i think you were the only one that even bothered firing a gun in defense..the others simlply dropped eggs, augered and grabbed more buffs...if this isnt perk farming/score horing i dont know what is...you guys had no goons, no support of fighters of any kind btw..just my opinion, do your thing dude lol..

my original thread was not based on this particular incident however
since you brought it up.............

i had been working that particular base alone for the last 1.5 hours
getting a few eggs off on town each time before being blown out of the sky by mace004,crambo, and a couple other knights. some sorties i didn't even make it to town. ask mace and crambo i you like how many times they roasted me.
also i'm pretty sure they will tell you i was alone.
on my 6th or 7th sortie..yes i did go after FHs in an effort to give me some time to work the town.
you typed on 200 something to the effect of: "what possible reason could you have for dropping the FHs?"
its too bad you logged when you did because shortly there after i landed goon at town (after taking town down by myself) and captured the airfield beside knit HQ. i was looking forward to showing you my "reason" but alas you had logged.

I never saw that complaint. The complaint I saw was when toolsheddars drop the hangars at a base (or CV) where a furball is originating from, with no intention of taking the base, only to ruin the fun. Good fights come out of a determined base capture attempt and the defense that comes with it.

Although, given the choice, I would prefer toolsheddars go after undefended bases rather than killing the FH's at a furball base they dont intend to take.

Yeah soup, I think you're confusing 2 seperate whines. No worries, there are so many these days, it's hard to keep them straight.

The accepted standards for furballers are dropping the hangars for no reason, or (and this can be interchanged) sinking the CV for no reason. For the GV crowd, it's dropping the VH for no reason. You normally see these 2 variations of the whine when there's been little opposition(as in a vulch or a camp), or, alternatively, when the opposition is roughly equal(as in a good fight, either armor battle or furball).

Capture attempts where the hangars aren't dropped first do sometimes result in good fights (where numerical parity exists to some degree) and then generate whines when the hangars are dropped later; conversely, dropping the hangars to prevent a fight normally elicits a whine. However, just dropping the hangars to break up a fight, GV or furball, normally just results in people being pissed off, and almost always results in a whine. A legitimate capture attempt in which the hangars are dropped, and the capture is made, normally just results in some grumbling, and a resetting of the situation, so that the aforementioned triggers can again determine the appropriate whine for the situation.

Anyway, it sounds like you're still new to furballing and such, and I understand that the transition from GVer to buffer to furballer (and back, depending on the map and situation) can be confusing, but never be afraid to ask. Until such time, I hope this clarifies things a bit. :D

I'm mostly a GVer so my post will envolve GVing examples.....

I hate it when there is a good fight and buffs drop the hangers and they make no attemp to even take the base:furious

I don't like it when buff drop VHs and a they take it.  I don't like losing a base but its part of the game.

As for spawn camping.....I hate it when i'm camped....But i can't say i never do it:t

BUT i HATE guys who up buffs and come over TT at 800ft drop 1000lbsers all over the place!!:furious

If some guys flys a fighter/attack plzne and bombs thats not as bad...atleast I have a chance.
