I bought this lens today. Between the BMW and this lens, I'm officially 12" long now.

Seriously, I really needed a f/2.8 zoom for these cloudy, rainy days coming up during football season.

Sorry, but I used to have a 500 mm Vivitar f5.6 for surf photography that was about 20 inches long with an uncircumsized lens hood. Finally got rid of it -- too much recoil.

That D200 is on my long term horizon but I'm still applying the defibulator paddles to the wife for the cost of this lens (Wait til she sees the price of the D200 body! Guess I could show her the D2Xs first, then the D200 price should make the shock impact less

I've been told that the D70s performs well with the AF-D, but the D70 was subpar for quickeness. Guess I'll be finding out sometime next week!

D80 might be a reasonable substitute for D200 if you need to upgrade from the D70... Half the cost of the D200.

I was stupid enough to try the Canon 400D at my photo store today. Didnt take any pics with it there but I fell in love with it . I still havent done much with my Nikon but the 400D just fit my hands perfectly. I knew were everything was right away. If i can sell the D50 to any of my friends ill run down to the store to get it.

Anyone here drooling over that one?
