MG problem
« on: September 23, 2006, 11:15:22 AM »
yeah, ok, here it is....

to kill a Ack gun....

cannons(20mm/30mm):shots, maybe even 1

.45(handgun): 14 shots

.50cal(and equivilents): you can't

.30cal(and equivilents): you can't

yet u can destroy, barracks, fuel dumps, and ammo bunkers, and i believe even hangars if u sit there with infinite ammo and shoot for 1/2 hour

so why in the world can't i just make a strafing run on a ack gun and kill it with sumthing other than than cannons? (and on foot)

i would like to see this fixed, any1 else agree?

or is there a reason? idk wut, but is there?

i mean 8 freaking .50cal MGs SHOULD do SOMETHING to an ack gun!!!

:furious

Yoshimbo, the problem is pretty simple:

Cannon rounds are explosive and have a BLAST RADIUS as well as higher damage then a MG round. In other words, youll only need a few hits or *near* hits to do fatal damage to gun.

With 303/cal50 you need to HIT THE GUN dead on. Make a few passes on guns OFFLINE and film it. Then watch the film closely and count the EXACT hits on the gun you got.....

You *can* destroy ack with cal50 (with 303 as well, but it takes about the whole ammo load of a HMk1 to destroy one), but it will take a lot better aim then with a cannon armed plane.
21 is only half the truth.
