Good stuff.  It started to lose focus a bit in season 2, but it's back on track now.  Can't wait for next week.  :)

Wow!

Oppressive occuping forces, corrupt puppet govt, unwarrented detention of civilians, an insurgent populace and....suicide bombers on the side of the good guys!

Battleshag Galactica; hrumph - I liked the original. I can't stand that character they have playing starbuck (I use another name for her around the house)....but Caprica-6, Sharon & a couple of the other characters are easy on the eyes for sure. (poor com. Tigh; his wife is just easy period)

If only there were more battles using the special effects abilities of the new mellinium, instead of starting it out like a soap opera & having the lead characters all acting like weanies. Edward James Olmos is the only character with any backbone & even he goes limp wristed on me know & then. But still better than most of the mindless entertainment on tv.

I'm guessing you didn't really watch more than an ep or 2?

Haven't missed an ep. yet...including last nights season premier, "what's happened until now" & "Behind the scenes"

I'm not saying it's a bad show per se, just needs more warfare & less kissy face; the original had the same problem to a lesser degree up until they found earth, then it got really dumb.

Fair enough.  I made a bad assumption.

Did you know the name of Caprica-6 was Gina, it was a jab at the hardcore BSG fans that called the new show Galactica in name only or g.i.n.o. (a little trivia for ya)

Actually Pegasis-6 was named "Gina".  They haven't ever told us Caprica-6's human alias.  The Cyclons all just call her "Caprica". :)

--- SPOILER WARNING ---

WOW! BSG got really political really fast. I know US tv producers love to mix politics and fiction, but this is extreme. The human resistance is called the "insurgency" and they use IED's against a dropship and a suicide bomber against a human (cylon collaborators) police graduation ceremony. Does this sound familiar? And just to underline it, Laura Roslyn's new assistant is of Arab ethnicity.

I don't like this new Baghdadstar Galactica.

The comparison to the political context of today is inevitable, but go back in history and there are some very real references to the Vici French and German occupation in WW2.

Yes I'm sure the writers had Vichy France in mind when they wrote the episode. Not.

Grace Park (Boomer cylon) even stated in an interview that they were trying to integrate more of current events into the show. For the love of the Gods WHY?

Yes, they've gone exceptionally heavy handed in the political commentary.  Gosh, i feel so much more sympathy for Muslim suicide bombers now.  I can really relate.  They really are just like us.  I don't feel so bad now when I get the urge to spend about 10 minutes sawing some reporter's head off with a dull knife while he screams and gurgles.
