X2 Processors
« on: October 11, 2006, 09:08:45 PM »
Skuzzy or anyone that can answer this; I used to have an X2 processor but sold it when it was causing game issues. Now they came down a bit pricewise and I am thinking about upgrading again. Will it cause problems, or is there a way to make things stable without causing more crash issues? Will it be a big headache or more problem then its worth? My Asus board can handle it without changing too much. Im using dual sli 6800 cards and the best ram for the board. Is there anything else I should consider before making the change?

If you install the patch from AMD for the dual-core CPU's, then everything will be fine.  Check the "Hardware and Software" forum.  There is a sticky post at the top of the forum with a link to the AMD download page.
