I was carrying troops in the jeep, which does not have doors, and when I pressed "b" nothing seemed to happen. I'm still not sure how to unload from the jeep (or vehicle). Driving between bases takes much longer though, I think I will have to use a second computer and play another game while waiting :P

In a Jeep or an M3 you have to open the door (same as the C-47) with the "O" key ... then they will run when you kick them out.

You don't have to drive ALL the way between bases.

Bring up the clipboard ... right click on it ... choose "Vehicle spawns" ... the map will then show the directions and places where you can spawn to.

With that, and after choosing a vehicle in the hanger, look at the lower left hand corner of the clipboard. You will see a button with an "H" in it ... that will spawn the vehicle at the base you are at. All the other buttons around the "H" button correspond to the available spawn points that one can use from that base.

I know you wont like hearing that... but its normal :).

I took two weeks to get my first a2a kill in MA :). Dont get frustrated, Aces High has a pretty steep learning curve. And you are up against virtual pilots that might have been flying for years and years.

Also, choice of fight can be very important. If you try to fight 5 or 6 enemy pilots at once, even a seasoned vet has trouble. Try to look for places where there are not too many enemies around, and also some friendlies to help you out.

And one more tip: "Loose Sight, Loose Fight!" - Situational awareness (SA) is about 80% in a fight. Make sure you have your views are set up and practice keeping your opponent in sight (or at least know where he is and what hes doing!).

If you want to, come to the Training Arena to ask for help/tips. I will be there later this afternoon/evening (european time zone). Or set a date with one of us trainers - you can email us at trainers@hitechcreations.com. Please include your ingame name and times you are available (time zone!)

That is absolutely true and I kept that in mind last night - actually managed to get a kill too (only one).  I used to play bf1942 a lot and I think any strategy I used in that game is completely backwards to this one, since this one (aces high II) is so much more realistic - more of a simulation than a game.

I would like to do some training on flight combat, but it is difficult for me to set a day and time due to my occupation.  I will have to pop in the practice arena and see who's there when I'm on.  What I think would be really helpful would be to find someone that can offer training while in a live combat arena.

Way to go on your first kill! :)

During US times, theres usually people in the Training Arena. Just ask around on who can show you a few things. Aside from the Trainers, theres also a lot of very helpful longtime players in there that are willing to share their experience.

When you see me online in the Main Arenas, dont hesitate to PM me. We can wing some any time. Also, you could try to ask on country channel, maybe you find a Vet that is willing to let you join his plane and fly "with him".... this can also give you a good idea on tactical thoughts and fight management. (Ignore the stupid comments you might get for asking :))

Also check out the Squadron Forum (at the bottom of the forum list)... joining a Squad will give you guidance from longtime players, as well as wingmen and help should you need it. Also its a lot more fun then to fly around all alone. When choosing a squad, make sure your "personalities" and goals for the game are teh same.... most will let you fly with them for a while, to see if you "fit". I myself "grew up" in 71 Squadron.... was always a hoot to fly with them.

Roach, anytime you want a hand dropping troops or supplies, just PM me, and fix up a time. I work on GMT time, so it will be early evening if you are in US. But we can work round it. I could do with practicing my drops as well.

TWO WEEKS!! :O  :O  :O  :O
Spot the natural! Took me more like two or three MONTHS to get my first kill! Even then it was from the back of a B24! And kills are still few and far between!

I'd have a better chance in running into a Dodo Bird in the middle of rush hour, walking down the I-5 with two hookers in tow before I see a useful post from glock89- Ack-Ack

Lol, 2 weeks to get a first kill.  I got my first kill in the first 3 minutes of playing the game in the MA (back in march of 2006).
Anyway, it's kinda hard to get a kill when you're a noob.  But you'll get used to the controls and will be an ace with your favorite fighter.  I'm an ace with my favorite fighter: The ME262 baby!:D :aok :D :aok
