This is just rediculous that a society has become so greedy and lawsuit hungry that they are now banning grade school games.

More fat kids on the way! Pretty soon they'll ban all PE and jumping jacks and contact sports because they be afraid to be sued....first kid to fall over beacuse of an indetected heart ailment.... no more sit-ups or pull ups for you kids!

Man recess for me was the 70's version of Rome: total war.

Rock throwing, kickball, snowball fights, fistfights...followed by trips to the principal's office, then spankings at home...

rinse. repeat.....

When I was a sophmore in highschool, 3 years ago, the school board "outlawed" dodgeball because it was discrimitory aganst fat kids. So instead we played ball dodge. :aok

And fat kids are lucky when playing highschool dodgeball. More padding.

Check out the playgrounds they have now days.  All the teeter-totters, merry-go-rounds and all other "dangerous" (quotes added for Holden) playground equipment is getting ripped out and wussy padded plastic crap is cropping up in its place.  If I was still a kid I'd be board stiff in a modern playground.

It's high time this idiotic PC pendulum starts swinging back the other way.

touch football was banned at my school in grade 5... this is over 10 years ago. If I saw the principle of that school now, I don't think I'd be able to keep myself from reciting my entire repertoire of drunken-sailor insults. ****ing PC *****.

well they  don't want to kill off all of this generation cuase who is gonna take care of you guys when your walking around with a walker and a oxygen tank

As for the more appropiately named: "glorification", i'm solving that problem by getting them to play paintball when they are old enough - but judging by the size of the some of the kids i've seen playing, is about 6 years old.

Kids are weapons of mass destruction on the PB field, and extremely effective.

Edit:  When I have kids, this will be their playtime assuming schools outlaw touching and thinking.
