The Char B1 was equal to if not superior to the German tanks at the time germany invaded France and Poland. Plus they had other tanks and more of them than Germany. In AH2 the Char B1 would suffer, but pitted against it historical rivals it would be a winner.
http://www.onwar.com/tanks/Theres way too many to try and list them all here but France had a superior number of tanks vs the germans they just didnt deploy them were they could have been affective. French army commanders weere still stuck in WW1 thinking especially when planning the use of tanks.
The Germans on the other hand spent 2 or 3 years training with tanks and communcations and were more effective and they were able to recover from several blunders made during the invasion
France had approx 6000 tanks (all types, models combined) 1940
Germany had approx 4800 tanks (all types, models at or about 1940-41)
My numbers could be slightly off by a few hundred tanks plus or minus. France had the muscle they just didnt have the command structure or the training to use what they had. Another thing in Germany's favor was the airplane, specifically the Stuka and the Me109.
