well, first of all french tanks were made in the early war period, when a 37mm was adaquite for a main gun so what we are looking at are solid tanks but, however their heaviest tank carried a 75mm short-barreled gun and a 45mm AT gun the char B1 heavy tank with only a top road speed of 17.4mph or 28km/h but would be a great addition for the early war arenas, then there is always the SOUMA S-35 medium tank with the 47mm gun and one coaxial 7.5mm Vickers with a road speed of 24.85mph or 40km/h. to say one thing the French tanks were better than early German tanks in terms of armament, armour, and numbers but it was the tatics that made those tanks suffer. since the French were acostomed to trench warfare.

What Rino said.

One man turret -- very bad idea.

That being said -- it would be nice to have the vehicle set fleshed out somehow.

Don't be coward ,post your valuables comments and get banned like a man.

For the others :

I guess an automatic translator will help :)

Rino you are partially right, but never were the French char engaged in a way where this the one man tourelle was the main factor.

Better to give the French the M4 SHERMAN such as being used by the 2nd Free French Armored Division seen here coming ashore on Utah Beach on D-Day.

only way french takes could be used effectively was if the panzer and t34 were relocated to the MWA. Fact of the matter is the 1939 tanks can't compete with 1942 tanks

Have to say no to French Tanks. I have a hard enough time dirving reverse in Real life with just one gear. Still cant figure out ho they did with 5 gears in reverse. If they did learn to drive backwards and have your turret turned to the back as well.

The Char B1 was equal to if not superior to the German tanks at the time germany invaded France and Poland.   Plus they had other tanks and more of them than Germany.  In AH2 the Char B1 would suffer, but pitted against it historical rivals it would be a winner.

http://www.onwar.com/tanks/

Theres way too many to try and list them all here but France had a superior number of tanks vs the germans they just didnt deploy them were they could have been affective.   French army commanders weere still stuck in WW1 thinking especially when planning the use of tanks.
The Germans on the other hand spent 2 or 3 years training with tanks and communcations and were more effective and they were able to recover from several blunders made during the invasion

France had approx 6000 tanks (all types, models combined) 1940
Germany had approx 4800 tanks (all types, models at or about 1940-41)
My numbers could be slightly off by a few hundred tanks plus or minus.  France had the muscle they just didnt have the command structure or the training to use what they had.  Another thing in Germany's favor was the airplane, specifically the Stuka and the Me109.

Only problem Airscrew is we are kind of "Short" of early war tanks on both sides.

What we "need" is some other late war iron to play with what we have. Several of the M4 SHERMAN Family, M36 JACKSON, M18 HELLCAT, CROMWELL, FIREFLY, T-34/85, SU-85, etc.

I agree we are short on early tanks.   In the current MA the Char B1 wouldnt last long and IMO is weaker than the T-34.
I have posted wishes before for additional tanks/armor
Crusader Mk. III (A15)
(A27M), Cromwell IV
Comet (A34)
Challenger Mk. I (A30)
Matilda Mark III
Churchill Mk. VII (A22F)
Sherman VC "Firefly"
17-pounder Self-Propelled Gun Achilles IIC
T-34-85 Model 1944
SU-100
SU-85
KV-1s Model 1942
IS-1 [IS - Iosef Stalin, also IS-85, and JS-1]
IS-2 Model 1944 (also IS-2M)
Sherman M4A3E2, also Jumbo
M4A3(76)W HVSS (Sherman IIIAY), M4A3E8, also Easy Eight
90mm Gun Motor Carriage M36
Light Tank M24 Chaffee
Panzerkampfwagen V Ausf. from D  to the G, Panther (SdKfz 171)

I would like to any of those above, preferably all of them
:t
