I didn't miss it. Those guys are not the ones that directed this scenario. The governor is a democrat but she didn't order it either. The police chief did. Is he elected or hired by the mayor?

Lukster, did a bit of googleing and cant find an answer to your question.

I did find where they just hired the chief in may by a 7-0 vote of the city counsel. If the party affiliations of the counsel are important to you let me know, i will make a few calls and find out.

Curious tho, if I find that the repubs are in the majority shall we blame the party for this?

Chairboy, I make my points. Arguing with you is like beating my head against a brick wall and just as pointless. You want to assume you've "won" an argument just because I don't beat the dead horse with you go right ahead.

Wow what insight there AKIron.

Detroit votes Democratic, and the UAW and Union Members vote Dem.    You amazing "Blue State Finder" you now need to turn over the "Capn Crunch Decoder Ring" on this one.

If you ever come up to Grand Rapids/Wyoming, you will see first hand why something like this would ever be put into place.   I would NEVER live there, it is crime ridden among other things.   Only St. Joseph/Benton Harbor is higher in crime than this region.

Shamus, I agree with you as well, "on up to the pat downs".   BUT, we know the area in question.   This wasn't the best way to handle it, but truthfully, I'm not shocked that this took place in Wyoming, Mi.

I'd have to say Dems control this area, BUT, the PARTY is NOT to blame.

I've seen the pictures you have posted of yourself here.  If you did intimidate anyone, then they were truly idiots.

Exactly!  If the little criminals haven't done anything wrong then they've got nothing to hide, so why not pat em down?

As long as you let female officers do the pat downs on the girls so you ain't got some dumbocrat perv kiddielover getting his jollies looking for "weapons" I can't see how any honest, patriotic American would have a problem with this.  I think there are more terrorist sympathizers on this board than in Saudi Arabia!  Disgusting!

But someone did do something wrong, the cops and the school administration.

Amendment IV

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

OMG!  Insert DISGUSTED EYE FACE THING.

I thought the constitution was a "living breathing document", to be interpreted according to the context of the environment we live in?

Don't you people GET IT?  The terrorists are EVERYWHERE.  They are waiting in little Suzy's 6th grade class...  They are waiting for you LIBRULS to DEMOLISH any attempt at enforcing safety in the schools, and when you are done undermining our democracy with your terrorist-loving traitor Democrat ways, THEY WILL STRIKE!

Don't you want the US to be victorious in Iraq?  I swear, you'd think this was a jihadist message board, looking at all these defeatist Democrat whiny nitpicking posts...

Apparently you don't even need probable cause to pull people over in the Columbus area anymore.

As a musician I find myself driving often late at night.  I have been pulled over for having a license plate light that wasn't visible beyond 100 feet (it wasn't burnt out, just not visible to the officer), travelling three miles-per-hour over the speed limit (which I was ticketed for, once he realized I wasn't drunk), and my favorite, and I quote, "crowding the fog line."  Each time I was pulled over after two in the morning, and the officer was obviously fishing for a DUI. The look of utter disapointment in their eyes when they realize I just wasted their time is priceless.
