Thanks sluggish.
Yeah, I have a bunch of complete songs, mostly on cassette tape and the masters on 1/2" tape were thrown away a few years ago.
Some of the things those guys are saying about the singing and playing are true. I even mentioned it in my post that the singing and playing were rough.
As you mentioned, these are just on the fly playing and singing as I came up with it and I wasn't worried about the sound quality. The idea was what I was asking about.
I actually laughed out loud at WMLute's comments.

Some of the most boring guitar players in the world are the one's that are technically very good, but can't come up with anything that is original. I don't know if you are being serious or not WMLute, but really.......do you think that I'm in need of basic guitar playing advice just based off of what I gave you? I have been playing for 24 years. If I wanted to record guitar and make a radio quality demo, I could easily do that. I'll try to find some old demos if you want.
The stuff I have been giving out here are just thrown together in minutes and recorded then posted. My pic is whatever I find around....like a quarter. The strings on the guitar are probably 4 years old and the guitar is tuned below concert pitch and is very loose. Even so, it gets the idea down.
As for singing. I could record the guitar track seperate, then learn the song and record the vocals separate and nail the thing if I felt like it. I could learn the song, play and sing it and nail it too if I had really cared to practice it even a little before recording it.
Did you guys hear any of the pros on the CMA's live performances? These guys are mega stars with mega hits and a lot of them sounded so aweful live. Rascal Flats would not have won Star Search sounding the way they did. The vocals were horrendous. It's not as easy as you think to play and sing live.
