First crappy song

An even crappier song

Don't want reminded me of Old Police kinda.

Living in was very Rush esque.

Kinda liked 'em.

Nice!

Well, I don't recall Nuke ever saying he was "great" or "talented" without being a little sarcastic.

In regards to these tunes, Rolex, IMHO all they lack is a producer with a little creativity.  On the first song a little ska style could have made that song better than Sublime.  Ok, maybe not but it has potential.  The second song is the same; potential with a comptetant producer.  I actually liked the songs as originals, I can only imagine their potential with a good producer.

I wasn't going to point that part out because I was getting such a kick out of it. It was totally obvious, I thought.

Even if I was being serious, what's the big deal anyway? lol. No reason for people to get nasty. :lol

Two of the songs were a joke as well.

Crap is crap, any way you slice it. I cringe at listening to myself. There isn't an A&R guy on the planet who wouldn't throw it in the dumpster. It has always been just a diversion for me. You can't play and think about your 'To-do list' for tomorrow.

I think you have me confused with Waffle or someone else, Nuke. I've never done any real recording. They're going back into oblivion where they belong.

Rolex, have you heard the original Gene Simmon's produced Van Halen demo's?  Total crap.  Really bad.  Ted Templeman heard em and said, "Whoa...let's get these guys back in the studio!".

I just remember that you posted a song a couple years ago and that you said that you performed before 30,000 people.

Rolex, I did the band thing in my twenties. Since then, it has been a hobby for me as well.

My main focus and interest since then has been in songwriting, not performing. I have hundreds of songs that I record very roughly and file away. Sometimes I come up with something that I think is good, then I try to record those. I usually don't play them for anybody either, though a few have been on the local radio shows back in the day.

For me now, I just like having a mic by my computer and my acoustic (with the 4 year old strings) so I don't have to mess around with setting anything up when I want to record something.  I used to spend hours and hours going over every little detail in the mixing and the sound of just one song.

Today, I do a lot more with my time than I did when I was young.

Thanks. The way I saved these songs is just terrible. I assumed that I would alwaysd have the analog 8 track machine and the master tapes, so the mixdowns onto casssette tapes didn't seem important at the time.

Well, now all I have is a bunch of old cassettes in shoe boxes and none of them are even labeled.......and they are mostly full on both sides. It's a pain to go through them to find the songs I want. A lot of them have drop outs too.

I'll see if I can find a few more that I like too.

Actually, I also think that a good producer would make the two songs I listened to "good".  They both had potential, and the 80's ARE back in style now, so who knows?

I haven't seen members of my band "Jigsaw Jungle" in over 8 years.   I'll try and email my buddy (knew him since kindegarten) and see if he has the DAT's.    If so, I'll try and convert them.   He was our "keeper of the tapes" from early on.

Get this straight Nuke, I'm VERY open minded when it comes to music.   I just despise Garth Brooks-Present "Country Music".    Talk to my wife about "narrow minded" to music, hell, she never heard of Pink Floyd before we started dating 13 years ago.   Now, they're her favorite right up there Queen (she never listened to them either).

I DID play drums for 14 years and sang lead/some backing.    I wouldn't sit behind a kit.   I've been "out of it" for over 8 years.   My timing would be off, and I would not be happy with my results.    I am now torn between getting a Strat or an acoustic.   I now wish to learn the geeeetar.

Mash, if ya never played geetar before get the acoustic.  If ya have get the Strat.  Strat's: being the best at being the bomb since 1954!
