"Gen. James Conway has been confirmed by the Senate as the new commandant of the Marine Corps.

Conway, who also was promoted from lieutenant general to full general, was confirmed Wednesday by a unanimous vote, according to the Marine Corps. It has not yet been announced when Conway will replace the current Marine Corps commandant, Gen. Michael Hagee. Conway comes to the commandant’s position from the Joint Staff, which assists the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in accomplishing his responsibilities. Hagee has served as commandant for three and a half years, slightly longer than the typical tenure."

DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."
