His jokes are stupid, and much of the reactions to them stupider.
He's efficient.

anybody who can get people laughing across continents, in these troubled times especially, will get me to buy a movie ticket.

I don't get the comparison to Kaufman, though, because Kaufman was respected outside the entertainment field, through his contributions to the sport of inter-gender wrestling.

Borat, however, has painted himself into a corner.  Where does he go from here?  He won't be able to fool people any longer to make the fake documentaries.   I predict that he degrades into a "Mr. Bean" type character, reduced to making scripted movies in the future.

He has 3 or 4 characters and will probably just make up new ones.

Borat was originally just a secondary character in the tv show "Da Ali G Show", Sascha Baron Cohen started doing a lot more Borat stuff when Ali-G got old and people realised he was making them look stupid.  After the Borat film i doubt he will do much, if any more Borat stuff.

It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)
