You have to admit it's amusing the superiority that the Hurri IIC shows when it's perched up above repeatedly zooming down for a pick and then the hasty return. I wondered why the plane wasn't this dominating in the real war...

Gets painfully old to have a IIC drop down on my Jug at 500kts, ping and kill it with lazers, then go back up to hover for the next victim...

You do realise the XVI is not some later/greater version of the Griffon engined XIV, but is in fact a Merlin 266 (US built Merlin 66) engined LF IXe.
Also that the only difference between a 1943 LF IX and a 1944 XVI is the .50cals?

Come on Kazaa. Your entitled to your opinion and so is Biggles.

The Late war arena is lucky to have the earlier planes re-enabled at all.

In my eyes it wouldnt have a perk or ENY issue at all if the older, less uber planes werent in the planeset there.

HT has enabled them all and upped the Caps to satisfy the griefers.

Personally I would prefer everything but the 262, 163 and Temp perked all the others No.

Back in the old MA, I could knock down a La here and there with a Yak9u. Yak just doesn't have the ammo, extra cannons, and not quite the speed of an La, but it's about as manuverable.

When you say "everyone floods to the next pair of planes" I don't think there would another pair as uber as those 2. La5, Yak, 190K4 are all good planes similar to the La7, but all have their down sides. Spit 9, Spit 8, Ki84, N1K1 would be a nice line up to choose from.

At the end of the day lads, How many more times do we have to helplessly run down La7s or have a Spit16 roll and turn out of the shot in a blink of an eye ?

This is exactly what the Spit16 (and other similarly superior planes) should be used for - to give new folks, or people who can't devote much time to the game, a handicap that lets them compete with more experienced players. The problem is that some people refuse to outgrow the airplane.

I wonder if there is an easy way to give new players a constant supply of perk points until they reach some specified accumulation of hours, at which point the supply diminishes and finally disappears? Not that it would do anything to make the experienced people act responsibly, but perhaps it would be a benefit to new users.

that's exactly right. the spits, woobiecaneIIc and the La7s should be there as a handicap. there is a steep learning curve in this game and it is very frustrating for us noobs. if however you are three years into this game and you are still in spits and La7s why, you are merely an intardnet equivalent of W.I.C. food stamp user. wash up, go out, find yourself a real cartoon plane you lazy bum.

Well ... I don't think telling someone they can't fly a nice plane because they are a good pilot is fair either. There has to be a happy median somehow.

I can fly a few planes "ok"... but I just really like flying the Spit16.. mostly for it's cockpit, Rcl and RoR. After that it's the Niki, P-51B, Zeke (If I'm in the mood to flutter about), and maybe the 110 or one of the 109's (although their stall still kicks my arse).

If I get decent at this game, I'll probably be pissed if someone tells me I can no longer fly the 16 cause I'm too good.

Wonder what would have happened if Richtofen or Johnson had of been denied certain "dweeb" rides because they were too good?

Kind of supports the view of the current perk system being completely backwards. People who don't "need" a perked plane (assuming they were perked correctly for the sake of argument) can afford 1234532 of them. Those that "need" them as a handicap can't.

I don't really care as much as it may seem, but it is interesting. I actually have enough to perk points now (from sheer luck and finding a few people worse than me to pick on) to buy a few rides, but I still haven't. (Probably would if they perked my 16 though

).

Storch no offence but STFU. So sorry if all people are not leather panty wearing sicophants. People fly what they like and have an interest in for the most part.

Storch really don't understand why you get like this. The few time I have flown against you didn't have this attitude.

I'll say it again, if you don't want to see La7s or XVI go fly EW or MW.
This is another benefit of splitting the arenas up.
All of you that scream perk x plane want is... tool around in your ac of choice unmolested by a faster or more agile ac.

And before any say anything I fly just about everything (not well mind you but I try).

Calan jump in a 109f you will think you're in a spit (except for the crappy forward view. You won't run from anything but you will have fun in turn fights I guarantee. After you get comfy in that jump to the g2 and so on.
