Exactly why he is about the only chance the republicans have in the next presidential run.
After ultra right wing Bush this country will not be voting right wing again
Saving grace is for all their talk about Iraq. Nobody in the Democratic party seems to have a realistic plan as to what to do. And they seem to all be at odds as to what to do.
Combine that with the fact that while they have a majority. they dont have an overwhelming majority. Which is going to make it that much more difficult to realy accomplish anything within any kind of speedy timeframe
I doubt in 2 years the Iraq situation is going to be vastly different then it is today.
A Fact Im sure wont be lost on the voters.
Problem is Bush.
Too right wing for the base of the country with is largly moderate.
And left a bad bad taste in the mouths of many.
The only hope the republicans have of winning is to put up somone like Rudy.
Who is as you said Republican But not a conservative.
Personal view is The time is now ripe for a 3rd party candidate if one can raise the money needed to make himself noticed (Lets face it. it all boils down to money)
the country. Given its druthers I think would rather not see Hillary elected.
And thats pretty much who the front runner looks like its gonna be
Yet it doesnt want to stomach another 4-8 years of conservative ism either.
And most people are sick of the cross party bickering
People are growing weary of both parties. As would be indicated by the rise in voters registering as independants.
If a 3rd party candidate as I said. can raise the money needed to make himself noticed.
And puts forth a moderate message.
I think that person would stand a real chance.
Barring that.
Anyone other ten Rudy running.
I see our first Female President in our future
