Ruining Someone Else's Gameplay?
« on: November 15, 2006, 01:04:14 PM »
Quick question here to the community about general beliefs, ethics and opinions.

Real life situation:

There's several people who play the game for the strategic side, that is, they enjoy organizing and initiating missions for base captures and defenses.  Yesterday evening a rather high-ranking player switched sides to prevent this from happening.  They grabbed control of the CV, sailing it in circles as close to the shore batteries as they could get in a couple of instances in order to make it difficult for ord-heavy planes to take off and to enable easy hits from shore gunners.

Later, the same person grabbed CV's at different times as they sailed to the mission jump-off point, making sure they sailed straight for Lancasters called in via PM to their friends to sink them and return the fleet to port.

When the person was asked to stop, they kinda laughed over our country chat and mentioned that it wasn't cheating and there was nothing anyone could do about it.

When does this become harassment to the people organizing missions and playing the part of the game they enjoy?  Is it ok to score-pad with multiple accounts to make sure you're ranked high enough to do this to one side in a conflict?

Thanks!!

If Someone is going to pay $30 a month and go through all the trouble to fly 2 planes at the same time to improve their score then they deserve that high rank. :aok

I agree that it sucks. Maybe there should be some kinda side senoirity thing factored in with overall ranking when determining who outranks who in commanding a CV.

And they say Rank is useless.

Tis fun writing  F U with way points :D

It's even better to be able to keep CV alive, turn it at the right moment, keep it to 1 side of the SB so the SB can't get guns on it.  It's even better to place the CV where it spawns LVTs dry at the town BUT THE BEST THING is taking that CV off a complete avacado and telling said avacado that he indeed is a avacado and go get rank:aok

In case I'm confusing you.  I do sympathise.  Hence me usually being ranked in the top ten and having a rod up me arse about CV command.

Names aren't good.  Tend to get Skuzzified pretty quick, lol.  We took films of him over country chat telling us we could go screw ourselves and stfu n00bs, ect, after he told us he was doing it.

Easy solution -

Once you change countries you aren't able to take command a CV for a set amount of time.

Been suggested MANY MANY times.

Not the first time it has happened, doubt it will be the last, until HT does something about it.

Asus M3N-HT mobo

I suggest that you send the film to HTC and let them deal with it.  :aok

The idea of not being able to control CVs for certain amount of time after switching countries would have been better under old MA setup. But not this one, my squad frequently switches to the country with low numbers which can often mean being on one country for an hour.
