that would be cool..... betting on who wins, and choosing a value of how many perks the winner nicks off the looser......hmmmm

odds could then also build up and even the watchers could bet...hmmmm ;)

Thoughts on perking ord etc...

I don't like the direction it's taking. Phasing out all ord in the arena? A separate arena just for bombing? Putting 10 barracks at a large field, doubling the number of ack guns per field? The only thing that's going on is the total elimination of base capture. This is confirmed with the fact that the war is no longer won by reset, but reset at regular intervals (on a timer, if you will).

Why have a map with 100+ fields, if NONE of them will ever change hands?

I don't like the way this is going. It didn't work for Microsoft's Fighter Ace and it won't work here.

As for general perking of armament options, that has some interesting potential. I don't think we'll see 4x20mm spitfires (those were never really used with 4 guns) but we might see things like c-hog guns on the D-hog, or maybe Schrage Muzik guns for the 110G, or quad-303-gun on the lancaster tail. Some interesting options open up. The much-lamented LA7 3-gun package could be suppressed by a large margin, and perhaps the 30mm can be re-added to the 109G-6 but perked (same for gondolas on the 109F-4?).

What I'd like/LOVE to see, possibly perked:

-12x .303 cal guns on the Hurr2C, making a Hurr2B
-2 pods of 2x MG151/20 each for the 190A-5 and A-8 (heavy drag as well)
-extra bomb racks on the later P38s (carrying 4 bombs, sometimes 6)
-if we ever get an Alison P51A, heavily perked 4x20mm option
-50cal option on later spits that still have 4x.303s (9? Nah, 8?)

I'd like to see the malcolm hood on the P51B perked! I'm not kidding, it gives it a huge advantage. If you don't perk it, you get the old greenhouse canopy.

You seem to think that they were kidding about perking ord. They are not. They've said they will do it with the c-hog weapons on the d-hog. This is what they're going to do.

The JOKE was in how they're going to perk it, and the whole credit card thing.

The idea of perking various weapons loadouts has been requested for many years.

I strictly oppose the planned perked ordinance system.  It appears that there is a drive to create a pure "furball" environment as opposed to a diverse full arena war.

It does indeed appear they are gearing up to eliminate field capture, any type of attacking or bombing, and so on and so forth. "Furballers' paradise" = crappy gameplay.

As for the perked ord, as long as they don't go overboard it should be a welcome addition.

Then the comment Pyro Made about perking fuel as well....

I think it was something along the lines of increasing fuel burn modidfier, the have any external fuel tanks perked.  So the average fully fueled plane would only be able to fly for an average of  20 mins. if you want to be in the air longer than that - you'd need to purchase DT's for the flight.
