I'm hoping that it's just a bug in that only 1/2 of the gauges in the lower row are visible.

HTC, please tell us that the pilot's had will be pulled back enough to read the gauges.

I don't have room on my joystick for another button/view setting.

Just move your head further back and press the F10 key to save your new default head postion.
Problem solved?

Tried that. The pilot's view ("head") didn't move back. Did it work for you?

Nope. Problem still there because you can't move head position back from default in it, Kermit. You have to lower your head position a little if you want to see the bottom gauges fully. Doesn't mean you have to leave you head position there all the time, only if you need to look at them.

I have another question about the F4U cockpits.

I was curious where this part came from (highlighted in red):

as that heavy extra framing isn't visible in any pic I've ever seen of the Corsair's canopy (internal and external).

They hung armored glass in front.

My understanding was that's the angled piece of glass the gunsight was reflected on You can see that it's hung at an angle from the top of the canopy frame. The frame that I highlighted is an ENTIRELY different structure.

nope - the armored glass was about 2- 2 1/2" thick... the reflector glass isn't armored.

Personally, I don't mind the tighter feel of the new F4U cockpits. But, I'm pretty sure that the pilot was able to see more than 1/2 his altimeter and other gauges; therefore, I'd like to see the pilot's head come back enough to allow for this.

The pilot could look down, just like you have to do now.
