in the UK we have a show called 'crimewatch' where the presenters show clips and tell stories of crimes in the hope that the public will come forward with info.

In the old days (5 years ago) they would just tell stories and very rarely add some random CCTV footage.

these days they have countless reports all caught on cctv, with zoom, heat vision, night vision and often they can show the crime taking place from two or three different cameras.

"these boys beat this person up here (footage) then they ran ound the corner to here (footage) then they got on a bus (footage from inside bus) then they got off near thier houses (footage) then you can clearly see them going into the woods where we lost them (footage of kids running into woods).  here is a close up of boys 1 and 2 (close up footage freeze frame) and here is boy 3 last week in a shopping center (footage). If anyone can help with this investigation (yes, "if this footage shows your family or friends, please report them at once" - Orwell was right, kinda like the nazis hunting the jews and telling you to report your friends if they are guilty of being jewish.) so once again, please help us by dobbing these boys in, so we can stop training cctv cameras on every street to find them when we could be using them to capture more criminal acts"

you think its going to happen one day?? its already more than in full swing.

Shades of Minority Report. Who needs human psychics when you've got computers. First the Netherlands, now maybe the UK. Can the US be far behind? This stuff is right outta the sci-fi books. Guess it's not just the good ideas that are embraced and made into reality. All we'll need is bands around our necks to shock us into submission.

They have a show like that here too. Can't remember the name though. A couple of weeks back they had a great one. 3 hooligans were picking on a guy with his girlfriend.  The guy got hit a couple of times, and then his girl flipped out, and pounded some dude. They all backed off, then the big, as in round hooligan got in the girls face, and she decked him, lol.. About 5 minutes later the hooligans were arrested. :lol

I'm gonna stir the pot with this one....

The Bobbies wouldnt need all those cameras if the law abiding folks of England were allowed to have guns to defend themselves  ;)

Just bear in mind that in heaven, the policemen are British.
It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)

Honestly, I wasn't bashing you nor your country. The fact is I like this comic and the movie and  it was kind of relevant to this topic. It's also interesting that the society is taking the turn that Alan Moore predicted (back in the 80s).
