new ideas for base capture.
« on: December 06, 2006, 08:08:23 PM »
instead of the 1 line, with no queue jumpers concept of base capturing i been thinking of some other ways:

1:
Redesign the supply system (using the new blue line system) so that ALL bases are linked on the map.... if a base has a link that links itself to a enemy/red base, this base can be captured. Bases that have ALL green supply routes (ie not connected to a enemy base) are NOT able to be captured. (this idea kinda nicks WWIIOL supply system)

However, all front line bases are limited to a % of players from that side. So if knits had 8 front line bases over the map, up to 10% (maybe add 5%?) can up from that front line base. This would have a minor effect on hordes, but will also make a side not want TOO many front line bases because they don't want to be spread out too thin.

Heavy Bombers wouldn't be able to use front line bases (reduces suicide dive bombing lancs and is also more realistic)

And if someone wanted local air superiority (hording) in an area, they would have to up from 2nd line bases, which is a longer flight and would show up on darbar longer......

(still workin on this idea will post picture of idea soon... maybe)

2: keep the current system but make it so 20 troops (or more?) can capture "small" bases. (or does too many troops in one area still cause issues? i remember when it used to crash server :lol)

please be constructive in picking holes in this sytem lol
