I did that last night in the game.  

Was in a p-51 waiting on goons to take the base I was flying cap for.  I was near bingo fuel with no chance of rtb the base I upped from at about 5k.

Just as the base was taken my engine stopped (yikes!).

That guy deserves an atta-boy.  If he crashes, he will loose more than a few points....

Don't know what the glide ratio / landing speed is on an F16 but I'm thinking its brick-like.

Wow! I wonder what altitude he was at when he had the flame out.

He didn't have much time to radio that one in to a tower before he ran outta speed and airspace.
