so its a furball but a useful one.

both sides of the fence should be happy with the organised missions.

I AGREE WITH EVERYTHING YOU SAID !!!

When I log on, I don't have to look at the map as a whole.  The only thing that matters is the bases I can capture.  That's the only place where a fight might be.

Topography doesn't matter if you only have 1 choice of what to attack next. You might as well make the maps flat and featureless.  Actually make the maps like miniature golf courses with themes.  You can have the pyramid base and the great wall of china base.

No Fighter Town
No Tank Town

AI Strategy.

Boring.

If you can't find a way to return strategy to RL people, I'm going back to SWOTL.

I agree with Slap (and others) specifically about the way organization has helped.  I am a newbie and usually fly Rook.  Some nights, when there were people organizing missions, the Rooks rolled along like a steamroller.  Then the last couple nights flying, I have watched the outnumbered knights and bishops fight their way into, and win, a rook base or two, while there was nothing but attempts at defense by the guys I was flying around with.  Yeah, we stayed over the base, but they still took it!

So, even while I'm learning the game, I can agree that having to use a strategy to really advance is what the Orange setup is going to offer - I  like this.  I have to learn how to fly bombers and fight off enemies in one, but I'll be joining those missions soon!

Also, I learned how to drive a tank, and had a blast.  I agree that there are a lot more gv's on the ground than even a few weeks ago when I started flying.  And i enjoy "sighting" for our gv's when we have a bunch on the ground...nothing like spoiling a red gv's advantage and watching our guys pop 'im!!  :aok

BF2 addresses this well with the commander / squad leader position, it gives the team players somewhere to go / a "game plan" to follow. The others go do their own thing. Some of the commanders dudes are actually pretty good at directing the fight and find people willing to help out.

It'd be more effective that dorkKilla1234 flooding the text with "*************JOIN MY MISSION****************" every 2 min.

I finally got a chance to spend most of the day in LWO. It wasn't until mid-afternoon.early evening hours (MDT) that we had enough Bishops on to start organizing missions to get a push started back on the knits. There were (give or take) 10 of my squaddies on channel.
We had missions up, both for us and the general Bish populus, one of which was a 7 flight B17 run with Pony escorts, and another was a small Hog raid. Good fights were generated out of those missions, and even though some of them didn't work out, people still seemed to have fun.

When I compare the stripped down version of this test (HT presented first) with the current version that is currently running, I find I am in my element now. I like creating and participating in missions involving the different strengths of those choosing to join in. Some guys are VERY good in the furball scene, some guys prefer the bomber thing, others still are great tankers. When it all comes together, you get great fights, large and small.

Overall, I had a good time in LWO. I realize that HT still has bugs to work out (btw, HiTech.. Flayd said he found more..) so I'm giving it some time.

P.S.   to the Knits who saved thier zone base from that Bish town-busting mission. I and a few BOPs cooked that one up and got toasted by you guys. Great defense!

See, now you guys just arnt getting it.  Furballs are not useful, that’s why the cat pukes!
:p
Who loves furballs?
:noid
People like enema that help gang bang the outnumbered for points, perks and rank
:O
Furball has it merit though, helps when a group work together as a team, and handle a confusing situation with a lot of stuff flying around shooting.  There were furballs in the real war, so they are legit - but - they are nto for everyone.

Why do u  want to take something away from one group of people just to make another group of people happy? :furious  with the orange and blue, everyone gets their cake

:D
