The Importance of Updating Bios and Amount of Ram

How important is it?  

There is an update for my current bios available, should I update?

I currently have 1024mg of ram.  How important is it to increase it?  I currently have a few screen freezes.

 I have a total of 4 slots (curretnly using 2) that can handle 8mg of ram.  But looking at the expense, I am thinking an upgrade to 3mb is probable, as the cost for 8mb is way too high

My current system is a ASUS P5WD2 Premium Mother Board. with an Intel P4 3.6ghz processor.    I have a Radeon X850 video card, a raptor 75gig drive and a 200 gig hard drive.

BIOS updates usually fix bugs, or (more commonly) add support for newer chipsets, newer CPUs, and so forth. If you're running okay as-is you probably don't need to update the BIOS.

RAM: 1GB is decent. 2 GB is better, but also more expensive. If you've got 1 GB I say keep it for now. If you absolutely MUST spend $120 on another GB of ram, do so. Try to get the same RAM as you already have, the same speed (i.e. PC3200) and the same timings if you can. That way you can run them in dual channel mode.

Generally, you should NOT update the bios unless it solves a problem you are experiencing, OR it allows you to use hardware that you otherwise couldn't, OR it is confirmed to speed up your system in some easily measurable way (like, say, it adds overclocking options or reducing memory timings).

For Aces High 1 GB of ram is enough.
