f3, f4 mode in il2s

heyas guys:), i didnt know of these views, in the il2s, i usually have a gunner w/ me to help w/ boggies on my 6 , VILKAS is my gunner 90 % of the time and thats the way i flyem, flying in the f3,f4 mode got me sick lastnite lol,  and yes the PMs, continue w/ all the good insults:(  to those ive flown aginst those who dilslike :(   I WUBS U ALL  Joey Kimchee power: muwhahaha

When you should prolly send a email to Hitech and ask him directly since he is one of 2 ppl who are actually qualified to answer this

i am not really asking, more just bringing it to the attention of others.  i know that if i asked HTC it is unlikely i would get an answer anyway.

That's only a matter of old AH definitions. A20, IL2 are bombers and spawn from BH. Mosquito is a fighter/bomber that spawns out of FH. Still, the models we have are designed for quite similar tasks. They all have a crew of 2, no bomb sights and IMO non should have the F3 view.

For level bombers, I see a point in enabling F3 as to simulate the advantage of multi-crew in scanning the skies. For an ACM bird this eliminates the restrictions of cockpit view, which is an important issue - both in sim and historically. I'd add the dive bombers to the no-F3 list (D3A, SBD, stuka).

The F3 view should have a different criteria than "spawns out of BH". Maybe require a level bomb-sight?

GHI will get very mad at you if you take his F3 mode away from him.  He has got the IL2 F3 mode with red dot modified gunsight down pat, LOL!!!  It is amazing how well he flies and shoots that thing while in F3 external view mode.

One change i would like to see is that guns are disabled while in F3 external view mode.  Force the virtual pilot back into the pilots seat when he is firing his guns at least.  Firing guns in a IL2 when in external mode makes the plane too much of an offensive weapon.  Again i am sure GHI will not like this sugestion for he truely has the technique matered!!!!!

Wow! We've reached new heights in whining when you want the IL-2 penalized because you can't cope with a fat, slow climbing, poor turning tub....

The IL-2 pilot can't see diddly-squat to the rear. That's why they had a rear gunner, who would inform the pilot of what he couldn't see.

In terms of performance, the IL-2 is at the bottom of the heap. SBDs eat them for lunch.

That is still no excuse for F3 view. My comment is not IL2 specific and I explicitly mentioned the other planes that should not have the F3 view: D3A, SBD, Stuka, A20. Maybe there are a few more I forgot.
