It looks like the offer has been extended to Diamond Dave.

It's a shame Anthony isn't with them any longer. His voice was one of the more distinctive aspects of their sound.

... and Wolfgang? A three month bass player? Puh-leeze.

Maybe if Dave doesn't join them again (which I hope he doesn't), maybe they can do a Rockstar Supernova thing to find a singer....

EVH has slumped to an all time low, and to think I used to like him.

Eddie has hit rock bottom a few times lately. I think he still has a substance abuse problem.

He now has his son playing with the band.

Diamond Dave is the only professional in the band in the sense that he always avoided the drugs and took the touring seriously.

Best of luck to them but how many false starts and failures with their dwindling fan base put up with?

As long as there's mullets out there, Van Halen will have a fan base.
Maybe they will work some of Dave's bluegrass songs into the set.

Was a great band quite a few years back.  Unfortunately, the guitarist, although one of the all time great contributors of rock guitar technique, has the personality of an inflamed anus.

Im glad to hear that Anthony has finally seperated himself from VH.

Van Halen ceased to exist for me after 1984.

Yep there is only one Van Halen and they died when David Lee Roth was kicked out.  After that, nothing but pop crap.  Blah

Eddie Van Halen had a chane to go down as one of the greatest guitar players ever.  All he had to was to continue to perfect his craft.  Instead they've turned it into a sideshow that even hardcore fans don't want to deal with.  It's a shame....

Actually, that guy is a pretty good singer. He's a better singer than Dave, but Dave's singing ability is not what made VH famous.

Dave had the whole "frontman" package. He had a distinctive voice, had charisma, stage presence, humor, quick wit and lyrics and style that perfecty fit the band.

Im not a VH fan, but I think the best stuff they did bay FAR was when Dave was the frontman.

I thought Sammy was the best. Saw them with Dave and saw them with Sammy, the Red Rocker was better. OU812 was great, **** was good too. To me, those were the best VH put out.

I guess it's just a matter of what you consider a good concert, some guy doing splits or taking out an acoustic and doing a solo of 'where eagles fly'(he nailed it)

Alot of people from Warner Bros. got fired when that piece of crap album came out.

BTW I would love to see VH back with DRL but not with Wolfgang on bass. 3 months please.
  My guess it would be all prerecorded bass tracks.
