Why would that be ironic? We are not celebrites and most of us are aware that we could die at any time.

Like I said, everybody here knows that he or she could die at any moment... not so unexpected a circumstance or event.

And the definition of irony is not limited to an unexpected circumstance connected to an event.

There are many definitions and uses of irony. Verbal, dramatic, sarcasim. None of which would fit your attempted use of it.
