Not sure if this goes into the bugs category or not but I didnt see a general gripes category.  I got discoed while sitting in tower waiting for a mission to start with a group of guys I was fighting with.  First of all, my internet connection was fine durring this time so the problem was not on my end.  Since I got booted from the server and the areana was full I can now not log back into it.  This really ticked me off... this is under the category of things imho that *must* be fixed.  Very uncool to be working with a group of guys and get discoed and not be able to get back in... expecially in a situation where my country was alreay fighting from a numbers disadvantage of 15-20 people.

GlassJaw, just because your net connect is "fine", that doesnt mean you cannot get discoed for various reasons. With the limits of light speed and ISPs, the internet will always be unpredictable to some extend.

While i understand your frustration, there is no way to "fix" this. Its not neccessarily the games fault anyway. Could be on the route there or yours just as much. Im afraid you will have to live with that.

I guess the disconnection is to be expected occasionally an it is frustrating but as you said,  i'm sure its not completely preventable... heck, my computer spontaniously rebooted on me the other day after installing a windows update... I had 7 kills at the time and was returning to base to land.  back to the point, the worst part wasnt the disco which always sucks, it was the inablility to log back into the arena i was playing in because it had reached its population cap.  It would be nice to have a free pass to get into an areana that is at its population cap if youve played in it in say... the last 15 minutes.

Well, there really isn't all that much fiber optic yet. Mostly talking "speed of electricity" right now. :D

Do I read this right that you have windows update enabled while playing AH?
If so, and apologies if I understood this incorrectly, that could be the problem right there. Any auto updateing things should be off.
They no doubt will effect you pricisely when you don't want them to.

Gee, I always thought electricity traveled close to the speed of light.
Yes, there is some resistance but it's closer to c than it is to the Volvo on the autobahn.

ummm..... I believe HTC has turned off the "waiting for an open spot" while he's running the new capture system.

Could be worse... I'm religious about keeping my comp and connection as clean as I can, BUT "Ma' Bell" (in this corner of the desert) hasn't graduated from dial-up to DSL yet. Not unexpected to get booted every now and then.

Windows update should be disabled while playing. It regularly checking the web for updates can surely be accounted for a disco under certain circumstances. Also, usually the updater asks when and if you wish to reboot?

If i were you, id also go for a severe spyware/malware hunt.
