ok, you know it isn't the 1k variety how?

and secondly, if a bomb lands near a tank, especially if it's a big one, the tank will be destroyed. i can't believe someone is whining that their tanks was killed by a bomb :lol

I've dropped a 1k near a tiger before and did not get the kill. Tigers are plenty strong.

If you are in the gv, and you are killed, how do you know how big the bomb is and how close it landed? You will hear the pitched whine getting higher and then youll be back in the tower. Unless you see it dropping....in which case, it's probably accurate that it killed you.

If the GV modeling was correct in relation to bombing a 100 lbs bomb would probably rattle your cage a bit if it landed near you, the stronger the bombs, well you know.  Just be thankful the big bomb in the lancaster doesn't flip you if it lands next to you. (over-exaggeration)

If you died you were probably sitting in the pintle gun and, if a bomb is dropped near you, the shrapnal will surely kill you.  Alternately you may have been in the hull gun or drivers position facing the blast with the same results.  The tank doesn't need to be destroyed if you are.

I've watched close to 2000 different close air support attacks against tank hulks (M-60's) using every piece of ordnance in the U.S. inventory.  Trust me, a 500 lb bomb detonating within 50-100 meters of the tank gets effects.  And I'm not even talking about what kind of slamming headache the crew would have if they survived the explosive/shrapnel portion.  Saw an M-60 turret get blown off the chasis once.  It flipped end over end about 100 meters up in the air.  And that was with a direct impact from a 155mm howitzer round which contains 90lbs of explosive.  So, I'll grant that the bomb may not result in a catestrophic kill every time, but it will most likely mobility kill the tank 100% of the time and/or reduce the crew to a definitive combat ineffective state.  And don't ask about 1 or 2 thousand pounders.  Saw a "crowd pleaser" land right on top of a newly placed M-60 hulk and the only thing left after the impact was a scrap heap of pieces.  Totally demolished the turret and chasis--small pieces and these were iron bombs without any guidance kits...

Hell a well placed PB-1 rocket will take out a Tiger.  Talk about the whines ;)  By the way the PB-1 rocket is the one carried on the Fw-190F8.

Itīs irrelevant if you are in commander, gunner or driver position, it does not influence the probability of a kill whatsoever.

(Because of this, itīs always advisable to be in commanderīs position when enemy planes are around. Itīs easier to see them coming and dodge their bombs. A sitting tiger is a dead tiger.)

I'm glad "concussion" isn't modeled.   Hell, a 100lb bomb 25ft from it would kill the crew, tank may still be good, but the crew would have scrambled eggs for brains.

That would be cool then we could bail out of our planes, run the lil pilot to the tiger and take it over. :D
