Customizing Fields
« on: December 20, 2006, 07:53:38 PM »
I'm new to playing with the terrain editor and I would like to build custom fields for offline fun.

I'm unable to figure out how to do this. I can't find a perfectly flat piece of terrain to individualy lay out my runways. The grass terrain has random hills and trees that get in the way. I tried laying down the Airfield grounds and when I put down the individual runways they are layed beneath the ground. I can lay the small, medium, large runway setups fine though. Is there something I am missing or is this possible? All I need is flat terrain I can add my own trees and hills.

You would make a base in Object Editor.

There is a control for Index order in OE. The #0 is at the bottom #1 on top of it etc. You can change the index# for each shape in OE.

BTW If you customize air fields, do not expect it to be accepted for a main arena terrain.

I know HiTech just wanted to fool around with it, especially after seeing what others have done with it. Thanx.

Ok now I know how to customize the objects (air fields) but I can't figure out how to get it in the TE objects/shapes list. I can't find the Texscr folder in my map to place it in. Anybody know why?

Your texsrc folder isn't created when you start a terrain.  You must manually add it in your project folder and drop your .shp files in there.
Easy in-game again.
