Run Away

"Sometimes it is best to run away and live to fight another day"

In AH, I found that sometimes you have to make a run for it, and I see nothing wrong with this.  Personally, I like the fly the tempest, cause it's so fast and hard hitting.  I especially like to think I can get out of trouple even faster than I get myself into it.

This of course comes with the taunts from the guy(s) chasing me, telling me I'm a scardie cat (or worse) and should turn and fight.  I especially like it when say a turn plane (spit) is chasing me about 1k behind when I'm in a typhy or 38.  (This is spit that has come in with a 2k advantage, new to the fight and you seen just soon enough to start hauling *** away from him)

To turn would be suicide, no way I am going to out turn fight him even with equal E and position, no way I'm going to surprise him either.  Anything but to keep running would be folly, but you continue to hear the channel 200 crap talking about it.

Anyway, I find it absurd when someone has complete advantage, that they would talk crap about you not commiting suicide and giving them an easy kill.

i wouldn,t pay to much attention to what anyone says on 200.

no matter what you do in any given situation, there will always be some

einstein with something negative to say.

ignore it-----fly the way you want and have fun!!!

It is 'then' not 'than'

And the point I am making is that running is sometimes your only option.

Bro, before coming on the boards to make statements like these, you might try to learn some reversal moves.  They are not hard to get down and always give you a fighting chance no matter who has E,  or alt.  Your last comment about committing suicide is just plain inexperience talking.  I "drag" many a guy to their deaths right when they think they have the jump on me.  Doesn't matter what plane I am in or what plane they are in, there is an angle to beat most of them! :aok

When you run in a tempest, slow down a little to let them think they might catch you then turn the power back on. You get more response on 200 that way. :D

I have heard it said before that the taunts are for one purpose only:

to get the guy who is escaping mad enough to turn around and get shot down.

its all silly, just play the game.

I used to do this back in the AW days and it worked about 25% of the time.  Whatever it took to get the kill.

I don't trash talk anymore.  Let em run.

I do have a short story though.

This was about 4-5 months ago.  I was in a Spit XVI with some alt and dropped on a Tempest.  He ran so I WEP'd and was hanging with him pretty well on the deck just out of gun range.  I chased him for about 25-35 miles then reversed in an immelman and hit auto climb, WEP off.

As I climbed out I looked back to see the Temp closing distance on me from about 5K out.  I leveled and hit WEP again and as he closed to 3K I looped and HO'd him on the merge as he was running out of steam on his climb.

He should have just kept running.
I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.
