Ah, the ol' rouge truck ... Bringing cosmetics to the enemy base, eh?  Um ... something they aren't telling us?

Must've been a Nit base.
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

Now that's lame.
there is no way I have 12,000 plus sorties in a spitfire.  I think you have made an error.  out of curiosity how many sorties do you have in woobie fires and woobiecanes?

My Favorite "against all odds tale"

I was heading home after a successful 190-D sortie (back in AH1 when no one flew the 190D)...

I was around 18k and sailing looked good, I was over flying some of my squadmates lower who were concerned about cons up high near my altitude coming down to harrass them.

I found the two mustangs around 20k.  I have never been sure if they saw my squaddies.  But I know they saw me.

I botched my approach and they were good pilots.  It wasn't long before I was missing the wingtips on both wings..  No Ailerons.

I was spiraling down, but I know that the 190 handles ok on rudder.  Looking back and passing 10k I see them break off figuring I'm a lawn-dart.  But I start a gentle recovery and using rudder returned to the nearest friendly base (about 50 miles flying).

The 190 in AH can land with two half wings (as long as both of the missing halves aren't on the same side of the plane).  Fast approach at about 200 mph, gear up... Hold the flair till stall about 1 foot about the runway... I was able to touch down slow enough to survive... And stayed on Concrete landing my kills from earlier in the sortie.

Those are the overall plane stats for this camp (all pilots).

The first group are the overall rankings of the planes you've either gotten 10 or more kills in or 10 or more deaths in.

The second group are the overall rankings of the planes planes I've either gotten 10 or more kills in or 10 or more deaths in.

The third group are the planes I was using in my story at the top of this post.

My point was that you seem to pick planes from the top of the kills per death rankings I and I seem to pick planes from the middle  to lower section of the rankings and you're calling me lame?

Now, enough of that.  Back to the stories.
I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.

The weirdest thing for me was in Battle of Britain 2004.  I was flying back to France in my Bf 109E, all clear over the Channel.  I checked around me several times (and afterwards on film) -- no one was within dot range of me, and no ships were around me.  Then, all within about one second, with the sound compressed as if the events were happing in fast motion, I heard lots of pings, my engine oil blew all over my windshield, I received a pilot wound (with red splattering the windshield), and my plane exploded.

It was as if an unseen opponent had put a lot of hits into my plane, but the damage and effects were saved up and played in rapid motion all in one instant.

The weirdest thing for me was, one night I was flying b24's and I finished up my run then shot 2 planes down that were following me back to my base. They ended up just killing my outboard 1 and 2 and my right and left alirons. I lined her up on the runway and put my gear down. My drones went stright into the ground. So I decided to put my gear back up and belly land theres no way I could make another pass. I hit the runway and exploded then I was thrown to my lost drones. It put me right on the runway with engines off. I kinda just bounced just a bit and I was fine landed my kills and all. Never happend again. The weird thing was I saw my drones hit the ground and blow up.

I was in a fully ord P47D40 all shot up after sinking an appraoching cv.

I come in to land at friendly cv missing half my left wing, left gear,oil-fuel leaking & pilot all shot up.

I of coarse botch the landing and roll off the end of the flat-top,stall out and splashed into the sea.I look back and see the cv about to steam over me.

Instead of running me over, the cv hitched to and started to tow me along otw the nme fleet(minus its cv).I turned the cv a bit left so i would be on the blind side of our cv as the nme PT boats started steamin in.

So in tow I started blacking out..Then the prox kills started coming.(this was the old days where each kill would show in text buffer)A whole bunch of pt's kept comin and dieing and the whole ch1 was filled with my prox kills.(i think i got 27 in the span of 5 minutes.)

Everyone on ch1 going "U in a ship gun SirLoin?"..When i said i was still in my P47 it caused quite a stir!.."I saw u go down!..Cheat!!..etc"

The nme cv disappeared but a few PT's remained and sunk our cv with torps.Instead of it towing me down with it,i became a detached and floating P47 fuselage in plain view of several pt boats...Then they finally saw me and i saw them.....get chewed up by escort ship ack.

I think my final total was 30 kills in about 10 minutes...The fallout on Ch1 was priceless.

ok I think it was on ndisles map or something like that and I was at a port defending against invasion and was in a tiger.  I was on our side of the seawall and an lvt was on the opposite side of the seawall and I could not kill him but he killed me.  It was an lvt2 firing his machine guns and I was far enough away to fire rounds but nothing and I fired my pintel gun and still nothing but every round he fired hit me.  I couldn't believe it and still don't believe it happed to this day and it's been at least a year since it happend.

All the Best...
