Tracers
« on: January 12, 2007, 07:13:44 AM »
I did a brief search on this.. It may have already been discussed.

I dont use tracers in the birds but do use them in vehicles. I hate it when I leave from a GV and hop into a plane just to find that I have left the tracers on.

Can we spit the settings for the two. Have a tracers on for GV/plane only or sumtin along those lines?

Can I ask why you care about tracers being on in the aeroplane? Not being rude, just asking a question.

Why no tracers.... If you miss your target with the first burst... he has no idea

Mind you when your trying to clear your buddies six and your tracers are off you have to actually hit the badguy to make him break off

Mussie hit it right on..

I also think they blind me somewhat. I just like to see the hit sprites.

I like no tracers in the air & tracers on the ground too. I really need them in the M-16

It's the same reason real pilots often had their ground crews not load tracer.  Tracers can be misleading and not using them can improve gunnery.  I don't use them at all.

Umm, I may be wrong on this, but if you have your tracers off, your enemy will still see tracers coming from you  if he has them on....no?

You could make the setting match the mode. For example, switch to mode 1, you can select if that mode will have tracers (Default for mode 1 is airplanes). Switch to mode 2, select if it should have tracers or not (Default for mode 2 is GV's).

Very true, cause I remember when people got mad at me because I shot them down and they never saw me shooting. It took 4 minutes of convincing to calm them down that I was NOT a cheater.

I have heard that blkmagic. That it depends on both systems, I have tracers off & the only time I see them is from the ground ack I just assumed every player in the game had them off (lol)

Denholm,
I will give that a shot. Thanks.

blkmgc,

I understand what your thinking but No it does not work that way. If you turn them off no one can see anything no matter what their settings are. All you will see is hit sprites.
