In what appeared to be a Slug-Fest, the Axis and Allies fought a knock down, drag out brawl over the Pacific South of Japan.

The Japanese were tasked in destroying as many of the Allied CVs and support vessels as possible. The Allies massed over the CV's and screened
the fleets trying to get a glimpse of the attackers before they could get in and sink any ships.

As a pilot in the 412th we split up and searched our areas straining our eyes to see anything. Acting as forward observers, our mission was to relay any sightings and vector in interceptors to the enemy bombers.

For nearly 45 minutes we searched, seeing a lone scout it was quickly dispatched. And when some of the CV's started flashing we quickly headed to the calls of enemy aircraft. When our section noticed that the Western most CV's started flashing, our fuel situation forced us to turn back and investigate these warnings.

Approaching CV81, and down to 50% fuel our section of three mustangs
found one of the enemy strike groups, seemingly unescorted. And although I was forced to bail out from damage. They made quick work of the Kate Bombers and most likely saved the Allies from losing another CV.

ALLIES:

110 Kills - 630 Points

94 - Single Engine Aircraft Shot Down
16 - Twin Engine Airfcraft Shot Down

Total - 630 Points

AXIS:

117 Kills - 605 Points

113 - Single Engine Aircraft Shot Down
4 - Twin Engine Aircraft Shot Down
200 - C94 Sunk by 68Falcon

Total = 805 Points

As you see the Allies could of squeaked through with a victory had 94 not been sunk. And the scale of the Axis victory could of greatly increased with the addition of more sunken Allied Ships.

This leaves the Total Frame Scores at:

ALLIES = 1075
AXIS = 995

Frame 3 Orders will go out tonight:

Allies: VMF101 Nightmares
Axis: 347th Fighter Wing
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

Thank you for the recognition but in reality it was a combination of Nomde's well thought out orders, excellent work by the scouts and the strike package that made it possible. As we closed in on the carrier our fighter escort, Chawks and the half the 347th) provided excellent cover giving us time to line up and calibrate. The bombers must have all had hits otherwise my 8 100Kg bombs would not have caused the carrier to become a permanent resident of the deep blue sea.

Just had a look at the logs and I see I was the top scoring AXIS pilot in terms of plane kills - 4 shoot downs and 2 assists.

My 20mm's of doom would surely have struck again had I not been cruelly discoed on the way home. :t :mad:

Unfortunately, one of my kills sounds vaguely familiar - 68Jam. Sorry Jam. :o :o

That was one of the toughest FSO's I've flown in 4 years, my squad was eaten alive by Axis fighters... We thought we were moving in on bombers but it was a KI84 swarm.

8 clowns down... Make-up and orange wigs in the water... Squeeky noses.  My heart still sinks when I think of it.

Hahal, doobs has it right on - Nef and the others on 150 kept asking me, "HOW MANY", "WHAT ALT?", "WHERE?"

I kept typing "TONS" "25K", "NORTH OF CV 93/94" and "HELP HELP" as I tried to shake 3 KI-84s and knock any buffs down I could...in retrospect I should've waited on my attack and typed first, but I got anxious when the cloud of cons appeared ot me first on my 3 o'clock!

nice defense by 68th and the others with you guys...
