being rejected by jewel is like having a hot chick ninja assassin sneak up behind you and cut your throat....sure, she's pulling here blade through your larinx and sure your lifeforce is draining out in rivers to your chest...but it smells really nice.

I say the people on Idol and the german DSDS equivelent are there for my entertainment and it is perfectly ok to laugh as they are shattered on national TV. The Missus says thats wrong and I am a very mean man. What do you gentleman think.

I hate seeing people hurt, emotionaly, especialy on TV or in front of a crowd. I feel their pain too much I guess. One reason I refuse to watch those things.

I play guitar.

It's my greatest passion, hobby wise.

But I suck at it.

It'd be foolish of me to enter any audition or competition thinking that I could win.

It's amazing these people that are told "no" have no idea how bad they are.

I feel for the people that had their dreams shattered but it had to happen sometime. It's not like they have no idea that a camera is there recording them.

It's called recognizing a lack of talent.

Saxophone came very, very easy for me. Guitar, however, hasn't been anywhere near as easy.

ah. nice way of putting it. you probably do have to really want it...but then that only serves to make me wonder if desire is enough to make up half of the equasion for entertainment success.

i kept wondering if some of the people were there just to screw with the panel.

I had a couple of aces in my hand; 2 older brothers that were capable of picking up virtually any instrument and learn it thus teaching my what to do. Second, my first sax was actually a pro instrument - the Selmer Mk. VI, considered by some the finest alto sax made. So while my competition was as technically as good as I was, or even better, their tone sucked because they had Bundy's and Conn's (student instruments). I was never good at sight reading, but I had a really good vibrato and tone. When I got out of the Navy and went to JC I earned a full ride on playing sax in the jazz band, both alto and bari. Now THOSE were some fun times...fun times indeed.
