When I log on, I get the "join requests will display in the message bar" message. But I still get those annoying center screen pop up windows when someone sends a join request.  
I still have to type in .showjoin 0.

you have to set this for every arena then it should stay that way untill you change it.

 eg if you do showjoin.0 in blue  and not orange  it wont work in orange
