What do you think his dad would have to say about that?

I think you mean Dale Jarrett. Dale Earnhardt, Jr. signed a deal with DEI during the off season and will be with the #8 Chevy for at least 3 more years.

No. Earnhardt.  I'm watching CNN Speed right now and they say it's still up in the air and a big secret..  I don't think he'll do it.  He'd lose a lot of redneck respect.

Now that I've done some quick reading, seems he did'nt sign the deal with DEI yet.

As stated by Max Siegel, DEI's head of Global Operations:

"With respect to contract negotiations with Dale Jr., I wanted to make it very clear that DEI has every intention of re-signing Dale to a long-term deal,'' Siegel said. "We're in good ongoing discussions and hope to announce something soon.''

After doing some research, there is nothing in print anywhere online that states that he is even thinking about driving a Toyota.  I searched Nascar.com, CNN.com SI.com, and the Speed network.  I think you have your drivers confused.  Hell, Dale Jr. just did a couple of new commercials for Chevy.  Wouldn't make alot of sense if he were in talks with Toyota.

relax, it's not really a Toyota any more than a nascar chevy is a chevy or a nascar ford is a ford.  All nascar cars are purpose built race cars, the only thing they have in common with real cars is the name plate.

When they go to the "Car of Tomorrow" it really won't mean that much at all.

I am sure Dale Earnhardt would have just told Jr. to go where he thought he had the best chance of winning a championship.

My 2 cents.

Jr. is still arguing with his Step-Mom. No contract as of yet.

Dale Jarrett is racing for Toyota.

Dale Jr. is checy...will stay Chevy.

If he doesn't get a deal done before the end of this season with DEI , look for him to be driving for RCR ( Richard Childress Racing) next year.

Would be interesting to see Jr. and Harvick on the same team.

Also , so the nascar rumor mill has it , RCR will break out the black #3 possibly if Jr. were to end up there.

Jr. is Chevy tho.....Toyota prolly would LOVE to get him...but until he is done with this season , from what I read , he is in a chevy.

Toyota builds the frame, but it's still old tech... push-rod V8s. Nothing revolutionary or exciting about it. In fact, iirc, Toyota actually uses Chevy engines.

I've been to F1 races, and there's just something missing from it.  I guess when you're driving a $75 millon car, you just don't take a whole lot of risks.  Rather boring IMO

Open-wheel & thousand pound cars vs closed wheel, 3k+ pound cars...

F1 is more impressive for pure speed and performance.
Nascar is a fist fight with cars.

Both have their own appeal :)
