Tracer option in hangar

Here's a thought:

Why not make tracers on/off a loadout option in the hangar?

I know a lot of guys have mentioned wanting to be able to set tracers on or off per plane/vehicle. By making the option set in the hangar, rather than flight options, it would allow people to do that (just like, for example, certain planes I fly defaulted as "attack" sorties).
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

I like the idea too.  Sure, go into the clipboard and do it there........But is that the most appropriate place considering what the hangar offers?  Furthermore, I'd really like to see the option of changing tracer color....Red/Green.

I **LOVE** the idea of putting the tracker click-box in the hangar!!

Some aircraft I wouldn't mind having it (when I use 30mm in a 109, the yak9t, and a few others) but most I need to have it off. It's too much of a hassle to go in and turn it on/off all the time, so I go without.

I'm not keen on changing the color of the tracer (as you don't often see the tracer as much as the smoke trail behind it!)

the colour would be that of the smoke trail, the tracer round would just give off a coloured trail rather than a white one.

I could be wrong, but I think the color on the tracer is the color the bullet glows after exiting the barrel. I don't think that changes the color of the smoke trails (and I think only cannon should have smoke trails).

At least, from seeing 30cal and 50cal MGs being fired in film footage, you often just see the glowing bullet streak itself, without anything behind it.

Yep, tracer color depends on the tracer-compound, different chemicals were used. Its really the light emitted from the compound burning, not the smoke trail (usual MGs dont really have a visible smoketrail).

I also support the hangar option! Colors would be an awesome addition. Well maybe set it to historical data, depending on the plane you fly.

Also, currently we have pretty much low vis uni-color tracers, given current technology in computers, it shouldnt be too difficult to have them glow? I.e. bright center-dot and colored "aura"? That would be sweet!

Regards,
Matt

Let's hope HTC makes some more use of pixel shading.

I'm all for the tracer idea....It takes too long to go into the clipboard.
