Basicaly just wanted to see if there was anyone here who uses HOK regularly and to get general tips, etc. from those with experience.
In my limited experience with paint I have noticed that different brands, etc. all have there own little glitches, etc.
About to put the skin on the HD. :)

Ok, I called Rodney and asked him a few questions, I'll PM you his email address cause I'm just a little confused and he had questions about your project.

first he wanted to know if you were gonna use Candy or Pearl.   He says HOK Candy (and any other Candy) is a beyotch to use.  If you overlap it darkens up and then you have to start all over.  Also you need a really good gun for shooting Candy.  He said if you've never done Candy he wouldnt recommend it
Pearl he said was easier.  He said ideally your temp should be no lower than 70 degrees and humidity just depends.  you can paint colder temps and higher humidities but you have to be careful with the hardners and reducers because those can affect your drying times and helping to keep the paint from running.  You also only have about a 12 hour window to shoot the clear after you do the paint.    He's used HOK before and says the True Blue pearl is a nice color.  He said one issue with HOK is you have to order the color and it takes a week to get it.   He says that if he thinks he's gonna need 1 quart he orders 2 quarts just in case.   He said HOK has vidoes on painting.

I'll PM you his email address.

no problem, hope it works out.   let us know how it goes.

I'm going by his shop after work.  He's working on a 32 duece for a guy.  Kit car, steel body.  He's fixing the body gaps on the doors and trunk.   I gotta get some pictures of the car before he paints it.

Luckly you still have crayons and magic markers, I hear you can get pretty good results as long as you stay with in the lines
