I was actually looking at it not so much from a
"This is what we do here in Aces High - go forth and do the same unto others"
as I was from a
"Even one new player driven from the game by this nonsense before they've even used their free two weeks is one too many!" viewpoint.
Warbirds was the first online game I ever played - and it took about a year and a half of offline play before I stuck my toes into the "online" waters. And I'm not exaggerating to say that after a couple of the PM's that seem to be "the accepted norm" with a certain percentage of the players in AH I'd not have come back. Now's a different story... but I wonder how many people drop the game after a few weeks and a couple of "less than sportmanlike" pm's as just not worth it.
However, the "it's dumb because allowing it just promotes it" viewpoint is an excellent reason to see it changed, too. (IMHO)
